We also start providing support services ~
*Nautilus Technologies Co., Ltd.*
Press release: September 2, 2024
**
Nautilus Technologies releases the GA version of the purely domestic RDB “Tsurugi” ~ Also begins providing support services ~
* Nautilus Technologies Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Nautilus) *1) is the GA (General
Availability) version has been released. At the same time, we will begin providing Tsurugi support services for companies. *

*
Tsurugi was developed as part of NEDO’s “Technological development of AI chips and next-generation computing that enable high efficiency and high-speed processing” (hereinafter referred to as the commissioned project). It is a system that is compatible with the hardware environment (many-core, large-capacity memory, etc.) used in next-generation databases, and has the characteristic that as the hardware performance improves, the system performance also improves. *

* OSS (Open Source) will be released in October 2023.
It has been released to the public as a beta version (Software), and has been updated as a beta version, with the last updated version being beta 6. This time, we will release an official supported version as a GA version and begin providing support services. *

About support services
For support services, we have established a separate contact point to accept inquiries from the system design stage when developing and operating Tsurugi. We offer two types of services: Standard Support and Enterprise Support.
In addition, Altimeter (*2) and Belayer are tools that support the operation and management of Tsurugi, which are not provided by OSS. Provides UI (*3). The support price starts from 2 million yen/year. An overview of each support is as follows.
– Standard Support is for environments with up to 32 cores per server, and we will respond to inquiries in accordance with product specifications. Tools that support operation and management
(Altimeter/
Belayer
Regarding UI), we only provide the product. This support is intended for those who are starting to develop Tsurugi and those who want to use it on a small-scale system.
– Enterprise Support has no limit on the number of cores per server, and responds to inquiries by taking into account the business specifications of the system. For example, we support architecture reviews and data model reviews during design, code reviews and sample code presentation during implementation. In the event of a failure, we provide provisional patches and perform verification in a reproduction environment. Tools that support operation and management
(Altimeter/Belayer
Regarding UI), we also provide support for building operation and management. This support is intended for those who are conducting development and operation with a view to actual operation using Tsurugi. The following tasks that are not covered by support services will be handled individually as professional services. Please consult us separately.
– Design: Architecture design/model design
– Implementation: PoC/sample implementation
– Operation: Operation design/environment construction support – Performance: Performance verification/performance improvement (accompanying implementation)
About the future of Tsurugi
With the release of the GA version, Tsurugi has made it possible to operate the system on a single node. As for our future direction, we are currently continuing research and development in a project commissioned by NEDO, and are ensuring stability and functionality as a database (expanding available SQL, maintaining and improving performance), and ensuring high availability. (Multi-node
compatibility/Multi-data center compatibility).

The following items are planned to be addressed in 2024.
– Support SQL extension
– Extended availability (ensuring consistency within racks) – Expansion of supported platforms (Expansion of supported platforms for Linux OS)
endorsement
We have received endorsement from the following NEC Corporation for this announcement.
– NEC Corporation
NEC Corporation has been promoting joint research on next-generation database technology with Nautilus Technologies as part of a project commissioned by NEDO. I am very happy that the results of this research have been released as a GA version. We hope that Tsurugi’s high-speed database processing and new transaction technology will contribute to solving many problems in the real world.
