BRIDGES@ny, a logistics optimization service developed by Aisin (hereinafter referred to as Aisin), will be officially launched from September 1st (Sunday) for Toyota Motor Corporation (hereinafter referred to as Toyota) for its “pick-up logistics”. We have started providing services.
Toyota’s “pick-up logistics” is a transportation method in which the orderer arranges a truck and visits suppliers. By using one truck to visit each supplier rather than transporting each supplier
individually, it is expected to increase the loading rate, help address the shortage of truck drivers, and contribute to carbon neutrality by reducing the number of truck trips. Toyota has been gradually expanding this method since 2016.
Aisin’s “BRIDGES@ny” is a transportation management system that creates delivery plans (route), dynamic management, and driver driving support in transportation, based on the technology cultivated through the development of car navigation systems. Based on the concept of “building people-friendly logistics,” we are working to optimize and increase efficiency of the entire logistics value chain and solve problems in the logistics field.
After a trial and evaluation period starting in May 2024, it was officially adopted for Toyota’s “pick-up logistics” from September.
Aisin has developed functions to detect the risk of delays, notify managers, and send safety messages to drivers in order to support Toyota’s “pick-up logistics.” In addition, the accumulated operational performance data can be linked with Toyota’s logistics system to understand and analyze cargo handling, travel, and waiting times. By linking the results to improvements, we will help alleviate the shortage of truck drivers, such as by shortening cargo handling time.
Aisin will continue to utilize digital technology to contribute to the global environment and reduce the burden on workers, and to realize its management philosophy of “Bringing excitement to mobility and smiles to the future.”
