Haiuei Jingai Net (NEXCO East Japan Tohoku Branch [Miyagino-ku, Sendai City], etc.) will hold a “Highway Highway” event at Kotodai Park in Sendai City on September 21st (Saturday) and 22nd (Sunday), 2020. “Festa Tohoku 2024″ will be held.
This is an event that will feature “things unique to the region,” such as local performing arts and local gourmet food from the six prefectures of Tohoku that are connected by expressways, for the enjoyment of all who visit, and for them to rediscover the charm of the Tohoku region.
Approximately 1 million people have visited this event so far, making it the 21st time it has been held. We have a variety of gourmet food, amusement, and stage events, so please invite your family and friends and come visit us.

NEXCO East Japan’s Tohoku Branch is working on a “regional liaison initiative” in each prefecture with the aim of improving the vitality of the entire six prefectures of Tohoku and activating inter-regional exchanges by discovering attractive tourism resources and
disseminating them widely. We are organizing the “Haiuei Human Town Net” with the aim of carrying out activities in cooperation with the local community. In addition to holding the “Highway Festa Tohoku 2024,” NEXCO East Japan Tohoku Branch will strive to improve the vitality of the entire six prefectures of Tohoku through various initiatives that communicate the charm of the region through expressways.
The NEXCO East Group positions the period from 2021 to 2025 as “a period in which we will contribute to the achievement of the SDGs and transform towards a new future society,” and we are undertaking various initiatives.
We believe that holding this “Highway Festa Tohoku 2024” will contribute to SDGs goals 8 and 17 as a business activity that will lead to the promotion of sustainable tourism and the revitalization of local communities. .
