Tsuyoshi (hereinafter referred to as “Traders Securities”) will support job shadowing, which is planned and operated by NPO JUKE, as part of financial and economic education activities targeting young people. The program was held at the head office for the following people.
Job shadowing (JS) is a process in which university and high school students visit companies’ workplaces and shadow employees for a day, observing how they work and having repeated conversations with them. This is an experiential educational program that deepens your understanding of occupations and industries and helps you plan your future career.
This time as well, eight high school first-year students from Seiko Gakuin Junior and Senior High School, a private high school in Kanagawa Prefecture, participated in job shadowing conducted by our group in August last year.
At the orientation session at the beginning of the program, the participating high school students received an explanation of our group’s business activities and daily routines, and then moved to the dealing room where their mentors (exchange dealers in the market department), made up of young employees, work. In the simulated trading using , participants were seen to be seriously engaged in the transaction while exchanging opinions with each other, although they seemed confused by their first experience.
At 3:00 p.m., when the UK employment statistics, an important economic indicator, were announced, the British pound/yen suddenly made a sudden move, and the participants leaned over to see what was going on and looked at the rates and charts displayed on the monitors. At the same time, I was listening to my mentor explain what the news headlines from major news agencies meant.
In addition to this program, a short lecture was given by a developer using AI Support Desk, a generative AI solution for companies provided by FleGrowth Inc., a group company. During the lecture, we actually ran the “AI Support Desk” and gave examples, and all participants exchanged opinions on how to specifically write prompts in order to derive more precise answers. We learned how to use it.
