[Survey] This year’s home parties will increase in frequency despite people’s tendency to save money
*While the budget for home parties is expected to be the same or lower than last year, the frequency will increase. ~Results of questionnaire survey regarding home parties~*
The Japan Home Party Association (founded in 2012) has released the results of a survey regarding the budget and frequency of home parties in 2024. In this survey, while there is a tendency for home party budgets to remain the same or decrease compared to last year, the frequency of home parties is likely to be even higher than in 2023, when results showed that the frequency of home parties has increased significantly after the coronavirus pandemic. It has been found that the frequency has increased.
[Survey questions]
1. “How much money do you think you will spend on house parties this year?” 2. “After the coronavirus pandemic, have you held house parties more often than last year?”
Home party budgets tend to remain the same or decrease compared to last year As a result of the survey, approximately 41% of the respondents answered that they would hold a home party with the same budget as last year.*
“We are organizing the event with the same budget as last year.” (29 years old, freelance, Aichi Prefecture)*
You can see how they are enjoying their home party by being inventive and inventive within a limited budget.
Approximately 35% of respondents said they would reduce their budget compared to last year.*
“For economic reasons, I’m keeping my budget a little modest.” (40 years old, housewife, Hyogo Prefecture) “My plans for this year are still uncertain, so I can’t decide on a budget.” (33 years old, housewife, Tokyo) Miyako)*
Based on these answers, economic reasons can be assumed to be a factor in the budget reduction.
The frequency of home parties has increased further since last year. Despite the result of keeping the budget in check, the number of people who answered that the frequency of holding home parties has increased compared to last year has increased to 77%. In contrast, the number of people who answered “Decreased/No change” decreased to 23%.
[Analysis of our association]
The results of this survey clearly show that the frequency of home parties has increased even more after the coronavirus pandemic. In an unstable social situation, people are looking for a safe time at home, and it is thought that the importance of spending time with people close to them is becoming even more important.
Budget data also shows that households continue to manage their finances carefully. As economic uncertainty continues, people are being asked how to spend quality time with limited resources. Under these circumstances, home parties are thought to serve as a place to strengthen ties with family and friends and provide emotional stability in daily life.
