Oizumi Town, Gunma Prefecture introduces electronic contract service “GMO Sign” [GMO Global Sign HD]
*Supporting the development of one of the northern Kanto
“manufacturing towns” by digitizing contract documents*
GMO GlobalSign Holdings, Inc. (Representative Director and President: Mitsuru Aoyama
GMO Global Sign HD) is an electronic contract service developed and operated by the company, “electronic seal GMO Sign” (hereinafter referred to as GMO Sign), in Oizumi Town, Gunma Prefecture (Mayor: Murayama).
We would like to inform you that it has been introduced in Toshiaki (hereinafter referred to as Oizumi Town). This introduction marks the fifth time that “GMO Sign” has been introduced in Gunma Prefecture.
Oizumi Town has a policy of rolling out “GMO Sign” to all offices from September 2024, allowing all contract documents to be handled electronically, except for those that require paper signing for unavoidable reasons.
GMO GlobalSign HD and Oizumi Town will promote the efficiency of contract operations within the agency, support for local businesses, and contribute to environmental protection and SDGs through paperless operations.
* [Background] *
Although Oizumi Town, located in the southeastern part of Gunma Prefecture, is the smallest in the prefecture, it has grown into one of the northern Kanto region’s leading “manufacturing towns” through active measures to attract companies.
Oizumi Town will continue to attract companies, revitalize local industry, and expand employment opportunities. Therefore, in addition to aiming to improve the quality of services received not only by residents but also by local businesses, we also aim to improve the efficiency of existing operations and expand resources in the receiving local governments. Therefore, we decided to introduce GMO Sign, an electronic contract service that has already been implemented in four local governments in Gunma Prefecture and is highly
functional, simple and easy to use.
“GMO Sign” can be operated intuitively without reading any manuals, so it can be used smoothly by residents who are contract partners. For local businesses, it is expected to reduce business costs by reducing administrative processing time, such as eliminating the need for stamp fees and the need to receive and bring in contracts. Additionally, since it supports eight languages including Japanese, it is possible to conclude a contract without being restricted by the language used, even in Oizumi Town, where foreigners account for approximately 20.66% of the population.
After the contract is signed, documents are managed on the cloud. This makes it easy to search and quickly find the information you need, and it doesn’t require the storage space of paper documents. In this way, by digitizing the entire process from contract creation to management, local government contract operations can be carried out efficiently.
Furthermore, in order to maximize the effects of introducing “GMO Sign”, our personnel are actively providing operational support to local governments. Local governments in Gunma Prefecture that have introduced the service ahead of time have supported the smooth introduction of the service by holding in-house briefings and study sessions, as well as creating materials for customers.
In Oizumi Town, we will provide comprehensive and continuous support so that all local government employees can use the service with satisfaction and business collaboration between departments is optimized.
