Using the 10kW output V2X system demonstrator developed by Shindengen Industries, we have realized three-phase power supply from EVs to mechanical multi-storey parking lots, making it possible to operate the parking lot and take vehicles out of the parking lot even during a power outage. has been demonstrated. V2X (Vehicle-to-everything) is a technology that allows vehicles and various devices to work together through data communication and power charging and discharging. The V2X system demonstrator used in this test has the ability to extract electricity from the EV’s onboard battery to drive public industrial equipment.
Successful operation of multi-story parking lot with three-phase power supply In this demonstration test, we will connect and cooperate with a three-phase mechanical multi-level parking lot and EV vehicles and a V2X system demonstration device (EV charger/discharger) developed by our company, and test the power load drive using EV discharge power. Implemented. As a result, we were able to supply a large amount of power of approximately 3kVA from the EV battery even at maximum load, successfully driving a mechanical parking lot. The mechanical multi-storey parking lot used in the demonstration test is pallet-type and has a mechanism that can transport stored vehicles up, down, left and right, so it is said to have a particularly high power load among facilities of the same size. Having passed the demonstration test in a pallet-type mechanical multi-story parking lot, there is a possibility that it can be operated satisfactorily in other types of mechanical multi-story parking structures.
Two methods of “black start function” for system startup in the event of a disaster
Regarding “Black Start,” which allows V2X equipment to start even during a power outage, we have installed two types of functions in preparation for flexible operation in the event of a disaster, and we have conducted operational demonstrations of each. One method is to obtain the starting power from the charge/discharge connector, which can be implemented in some compatible vehicle models. Another method is to enable the system to start by installing a circuit function that obtains control power for starting from the EV’s cigarette lighter socket in the case of vehicle models that do not support obtaining starting power from the charge/discharge connector. I am.
Potential of new utilization stage “Industrial V2X system”
The EV discharge function is also becoming increasingly popular as a home V2H system. On the other hand, a major feature of the V2X system demonstration machine used in this test is that it has a discharge performance of three-phase 10kW class for industrial equipment, compared to single-phase AC 6kW class for home use. Since DC power from EV batteries can be directly converted into three-phase AC, it is suitable not only for home appliances but also for driving public electrical equipment, and has the potential to open up a new stage of electric mobility utilization.
