We have started selling “Tailored Wool Light Chester/Stretch” using our unique material “Balance Circular”.
The sewing is done by TFC, a cut and sew factory in Toyama Prefecture. The ultimate piece of clothing, created by a team of top craftsmen.

The feature of Balance Circular is that it has the elasticity characteristic of knits, but it can also knit fabrics with warp threads, similar to woven fabrics such as shirts and denim.

It was truly by chance that Maruwa Knit came across the “specially modified knitting machine” that produces this fabric.
Because they discovered it without any manuals, it apparently took them 10 years to be able to operate Maruwa Knit with their own hands. This fabric, born from their desire to “create fabrics that cannot be found anywhere else,” not only has the functionality of being stretchy and durable, but also embodies the passion of the craftsmen.

It is known that lining reduces the elasticity of the balance circular by half.
Even without lining, we were able to create an elegant-looking coat by paying close attention to details, patterns, and stitching.

In order to create a coat that can be worn both on and off, we have repeatedly revised the fit of the waist, the position of the buttons, and the length.
Particular attention was paid to the waist area, as cinching it too tightly would give it a more formal feel.
Although it is based on the classic Chester coat, it has a modern silhouette and details.

Even though it is a soft fabric, it curves beautifully and plumply like this. The secret is that the edge where the front and back fabric of the lapel are sewn together is turned to the wrong side by “7mm”*. By doing this, the front will curl up.
This 7mm reverse side is also used on the collar.
There is almost no gap between the neck and collar, and it sticks firmly to your neck.
It has an elegant atmosphere from both the front and the back.
Pockets are a design accent.
The silhouette is three-dimensional without being flat.
We are also particular about the shape of the pockets.
Instead of a flap pocket that gives a formal and stiff impression, it has a special shape with a stylish design. *
