The Daimaru Shinsaibashi store will celebrate its 5th anniversary since the main building was rebuilt in September 2024, and all 66 stores are undergoing large-scale renovations. From September 9th (Monday), the renewal promotion “A
“NEXT STORY BEGINS” will be held.
We will celebrate this milestone year with the catchphrase “Hi-5″, which expresses our gratitude to everyone who has supported us so far and our positive feelings toward our 10th anniversary. Artists who are active around the world are featured in the museum.
An artwork drawn by Donald Robertson for the Daimaru Shinsaibashi store depicts people high-fiving regardless of gender, race, or age. Enjoy the lively scenery throughout the building, including a series of people high-fiving and decorations with plants that look like a cake to celebrate the 5th anniversary. There will also be a special 3-day event where customers will be welcomed with live music when the store opens. We look forward to your visit.

The artwork that decorates the interior of the museum was commissioned by Donald Robertson, a pop artist who creates original art every year as part of the anniversary project, and whose work spans a wide range of industries and media. Pop art works of “high-fiving people” that transcend gender, race, and age will be displayed throughout the facility, representing the characteristics of the Shinsaibashi area, which is crowded with domestic customers and tourists visiting Japan. The theme of this picture is High 5! (High-five) wasn’t my idea, but let’s put it that way. I drew this picture to help celebrate the 5th anniversary of Daimaru Shinsaibashi store. Fashion but fun! Chic but bright. I really like this picture of such wonderful people. If you ask me to choose one as my favorite, I won’t be able to.
