Japan Educational Foundation Tokyo Communications University (President: Yoichi Muraoka, hereinafter referred to as “Tokyo Communications University”) and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (President: Naoki Shibuya, hereinafter referred to as “NTT East”) are utilizing generative AI in the education field.・The two parties signed an agreement on collaboration and cooperation on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, with the aim of developing digital human resources who can play an active role in modern society through research and industry-academia collaboration PBL*1.

[About Tokyo Communication University]
A correspondence university approved by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology that opened in April 2018. You can watch lecture videos online for about 15 minutes each and graduate without having to commute to school. We are expanding the door to education to more people by transcending the constraints of time, space, and cost. Two faculties were established: the Faculty of Human Welfare and the Faculty of Information Management. Tuition fees for 4 years start from 834,000 yen (admission fee included). We also have campuses in front of stations in Tokyo, Osaka, and Nagoya, where students can use the library and study spaces. With the purpose of “co-creating a regional recycling-based society,” we are working to solve regional issues with the power of local field capabilities and technology. In addition to promoting the development of digital human resources company-wide, we are focusing on promoting DX in the region and developing digital human resources.
In the field of education in particular, in addition to supporting the advancement of in-school ICT infrastructure, which is the key to school management and reform, we are leveraging NTT East’s know-how in “resolving regional issues using ICT” to work with educational institutions. We aim to contribute to the development of specialized human resources essential to the future of society and the region. In the field of generative AI, since the commercial launch of “tsuzumi” on March 25, 2024, we have been using “tsuzumi” to provide consulting, implementation support, and usage environments such as clouds and data centers, depending on the customer’s usage. We have started providing total solution services.
