At 10:28 a.m. today (September 4), Tokyo Tower, managed and operated by Shin, head office location: Shiba Koen, Minato-ku, Tokyo, welcomed its 190 millionth visitor to the U.S. We welcomed Toby Tong (34 years old) and his wife Lauren Tong (33 years old) from Seattle, Washington, who came to Japan for their honeymoon three days ago.
To commemorate the 190 millionth visitor to the tower, Tokyo Tower will hold a ceremony at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4th to welcome Mr. and Mrs. Tong, the 190 millionth visitor, and our president Maeda.
A commemorative ceremony was held in the 1st floor lobby of Foot Town, attended by approximately 150 people, including Shin Maeda and the Noppon brothers, the official Tokyo Tower characters.
At the ceremony, President Maeda said, “Congratulations to the 190 millionth person! Congratulations! The previous 180 millionth person was in 2018. It’s been a little long six years. The largest number of customers (from the United States) are from the United States.The visitors from the United States, who symbolize this year, were able to see the people’s lives. This is because stable and peaceful exchanges continue throughout the world.Tokyo Tower, society, and our customers will continue to work together to ensure that this activity continues forever.” I expressed my determination.
Next, Mr. and Mrs. Tong, the 190 millionth person, President Maeda, and Noppon brother wearing a crested hakama broke a “kusudama” and celebrated the 190 millionth visit.
Her husband, Toby, said, “This is my first time coming to Tokyo Tower.I got married five years ago, but I couldn’t come to Japan due to the coronavirus pandemic.I came here on my honeymoon this time. “I came because I wanted to see the cityscape, but I was surprised that the scenery was more beautiful than I expected. I was surprised because I didn’t know anything about the target number of 190 million people,” he said.
