Rice and agave win the ICC Summit “Crafted Catapult”
*～Selected from among seven companies in recognition of their community development efforts that “create the future of Japan from Oga”～*
“Ina to Agave Co., Ltd.” (Oga City, Akita Prefecture, Representative: Shuhei Okazumi) is engaged in town development centered on a craft salmon brewery in Oga, Akita Prefecture.
“Rice and Agave”) is a collaboration between Industry Co-Creation (ICC) Summit KYOTO held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
We are pleased to announce that we have won the 2024 “Crafted Catapult”. Award ceremony
“Crafted Catapult” is a program in which seven manufacturing companies each give a seven-minute presentation using the keyword “CRAFTED,” and the best presenter is selected by voting by 42 judges who are active on the front lines.

Rice and Agave’s management philosophy is to “cultivate the climate of Oga,” and in this presentation, we will highlight the achievements we have made in developing Oga’s town in the three years since our founding in 2021, including the opening of a brewery, food processing plant, and hotel, as well as various other topics. The participants gave presentations on the initiatives they have been working with with leading companies, and their future plans. Rice and agave’s past achievements and future efforts were evaluated, and the judges won the award based on the votes.

In our presentation, we talked about the theme of “Bringing the future of Japan from Oga” and talked about the town of Oga in Akita Prefecture, which used to be crowded with 70 restaurants, but now most of them are closed and shuttered. As a result, companies have withdrawn and the town has become deserted, and in the three years since Ina to Agave was established in that town, they have opened eight locations including a hotel (including three locations scheduled to open in the future) along with sake production. They gave a presentation on how the city of Oga has changed as a result of this, and what kind of future they would like to aim for. I would like to work with people in areas like Oga, where there is nothing, to demonstrate that so much can be done with nothing and pave the way for the future.
