*What is Whiskey School?*
Whiskey School is a school to learn about whisky, run by the Whiskey Culture Research Institute since 2001. We have been holding small classes for 10 to 20 people from various perspectives, including whiskey production, trivia, pairing, and tasting techniques. From October 1, 2023, we will open a new seminar room (1-10-5 Hiroo, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo) that can accommodate 81 people, the largest ever. Born in Kagoshima Prefecture and Kyoto City. Tokyo University of Agriculture Department of Brewing Science
graduation. After graduating, he worked at a wine import trading company, selling wine in the Kyoto and Osaka areas. After working for 12 years in the quality control department of a major domestic whiskey distillery, he moved to his current position.
Currently engaged in sake quality design, unblended sake development, and quality control.

After working as a weekly magazine reporter, moved to England in 1987. During a research trip to Scotland, he encountered Scotch single malt for the first time and fell in love with Scotch. After returning to Japan, he became active as a whiskey critic, and in 1998 was selected by Highland Distillers as one of the “Five Whiskey Writers of the World.” He supervised the NHK morning TV drama series “Massan,” which aired from September 2014 to March 2015, as a whiskey researcher.
