Outdoor company Patagonia Japan Branch (Headquarters: Ventura, California, USA; Japan Branch:
Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture) will release three types of “organic pasta” on Thursday, September 5, 2024, which are the first in the world to receive Regenerative Organic certification.
Regenerative Organic certification, the world’s most stringent agricultural standard, protects the health of the entire farm system, from soil to livestock to farm employees.

Patagonia’s goal is to produce pasta that is of high quality, not only from an environmental standpoint, but also from a taste and
nutritional standpoint. Manufactured using traditional Italian methods at a factory specializing in high-quality short pasta in Brooklyn, New York, the more you chew, the more the sweetness of the grain spreads. It contains over 8 times more dietary fiber than regular pasta, and one serving of pasta can provide 28% of the daily recommended amount of dietary fiber.

* Message from Yvon Chouinard (Founder of Patagonia) *
Organic pasta from Patagonia
This is my favorite Provisions product. It has a very delicious nutty, whole grain flavor and is made from khanza, a perennial grain. With long roots, carnza can support both the soil and our health by absorbing nutrients from deep within the soil. It’s also the world’s first certified Regenerative Organic pasta, proving that high-quality food doesn’t have to be complicated or industrialized and can actually have a positive impact on the planet.

Transforming the food industry is an opportunity to do good, not just reduce harm. We can’t change the whole system overnight, but by making everyday foods like pasta right, we can move towards a model that has a positive impact on the planet and ultimately benefits us all. is.

* Healthy soil is the key ingredient *
At Patagonia, our research continues to deepen our understanding that healthy soil is a key element in combating the climate crisis. Healthy soil captures carbon, so farms that are Regenerative Organic will absorb more carbon than fields that have been degraded by the destructive methods used in conventional agriculture. I think it is possible. Perhaps even more so, regenerative organic farming is a way to grow food that reduces our carbon footprint. In short, this pasta is helping to create a more resilient and livable future from a food perspective.

* The quality that Patagonia Provisions aims for *
Not only is our pasta certified regenerative and organic and has an environmental impact, but also tastes great.
It has the high quality that Provisions aims for. At a high-quality pasta factory in Brooklyn, New York, it is slowly dried at low temperatures for a long time, resulting in a chewy texture that reveals the rich sweetness of the grains the more you chew. Because it is extruded from a bronze mold, it has a rough surface with fine grooves that allow the sauce to adhere better to the pasta, improving the texture and taste of pasta dishes. It has a strong flavor and can be enjoyed even with a simple seasoning of olive oil and salt, and goes well with sauces with strong flavors such as tomato sauce, cream sauce, and basil sauce.

* Get useful nutrients with a diet that promotes diversity*
Pair your pasta with a wide variety of seasonal plants, including vegetables, root vegetables, and beans. This pasta is 4 to 6 per box. The serving size is calculated at 56.7g to 85g per serving. By feeding the gut microorganisms with a variety of different dietary fibers, they are encouraged to further diversify, and the diversified microorganisms convert the dietary fibers into health-promoting molecules. While the dietary fiber content of regular pasta is 1.5%, Patagonia
Provisions organic pasta has 12.5% dietary fiber.
It is rich, satisfying, and provides useful nutrients for humans. One 56.7g serving of this organic pasta contains 7g of dietary fiber, which is 28% of the daily recommended amount for adults.
