▼About the Noritake brand
I want to make white, beautiful, and elaborate Western tableware here in Japan. Ichizaemon Morimura, who was a trader exporting Japanese antiques and miscellaneous goods, saw beautifully painted European porcelain at the Paris Universal Exposition (1889) and made a firm commitment to Noritake. History has begun.
In 1904, a modern factory was built and research into dinner sets began. After much trial and error, in 1914, they succeeded in producing the first dinner set in Japan.
