It’s a place of learning. Together with guests who think and explore “place”
What is “place of residence”? We will delve deeper into this and explore something like the law of “placement.”
■Recommended for these people
・People who want to increase their “place to belong” in the area ・People who are involved in “Isabi” and people who want to be involved in the future
・People who are interested in community design and town development ・People who are interested in measures against loneliness and isolation * Over 1300 registered users. 10 months of searching for a “place to belong” from diverse perspectives*
Since December 2023, “Anatomy of a Place” has continued to explore “places” with experts from a wide range of fields, and has received a response of over 1,300 registered users*
I got it. The highlights include not only expert knowledge and discussions* This is a new approach* in which designers manipulate graphics in real time to create “anatomical diagrams.”
Anatomical diagram of “whereabouts” and the relationship between each episode. The live feeling of designers actually manipulating anatomical diagrams each time was also well-received.
In past sessions, we covered not only welfare perspectives but also various aspects related to “places of belonging” from the
perspectives of “support,” “exchange,” “place,” “coincidence,” “uniqueness,” “comfort,” “design,” and “outreach.” has been focused on.
* In the final episode, Mr. Makoto Yuasa, the chairman of Musubie and a social activist who has continued to research “places”, will be a guest on “The future of “places”*
In this article, we will look back at the series so far and dig deeper into “places”.
* -Discovered Hypothesis – Existence of Components and Facilitating Elements of Placement*
In “Anatomy of a Place”, the definition of “place” is taken from Yuasa’s paper as follows.
The definition of a place is “A place is a place where you have a relationship where you feel seen, accepted, respected, and connected to someone.
.
(Omitted) A place is personal, subjective, and temporary. There is no such thing as a universal and permanent place for everyone.
(Makoto Yuasa 2023 Policy Theory of Places – Essay – Thinking from the perspective of children’s cafeterias – Regional Welfare Research, 51. 32-44.)
Based on this premise, we believe that “place” is not just a physical place or relationship, but that in order for a place to belong, there are the following components: “people,” “place,” and “person in charge.” Based on this hypothesis, we conducted an autopsy. “People” refers to the people who are there or the people who open the space, “ba” refers to the various spaces in which you can place yourself, and “kari” refers to the self-recognized significance of existence.
The term “person” referred to here is interpreted as follows. 1. Meaning of existence that the person can understand in that situation 2. Something that can be acknowledged whether or not it is given by others 3. Self-awareness in the setting is easily influenced by others’ recognition 4. Role It’s not just easy-to-understand things like , but things that can increase depending on the atmosphere of the place and the people.
However, as we proceeded with the dissection and analysis of the cases obtained from the experts in each session, we discovered that we were not only able to identify the constituent elements that we had initially considered as hypotheses, but also to accelerate them* Hypothesis that there may be something like a “promoting factor”* I arrived at. Although the stages at which this promotion factor works are different, I believe that by attaching it to “people,” “places,” and “persons,” it will be easier to create a “place to belong” and create a more comfortable place. I’m thinking.

* Evolution of anatomical diagrams and development into “Isho no Kaitai Shinsho” *
As we progressed in dissecting “whereabouts,” we were able to discover new mechanisms, but these are still at the hypothetical stage. In the future, I will further explore the anatomical diagrams I have created so far and the factors that facilitate the creation of a “place of belonging”, and ultimately*
It will reach its culmination in the form of “Isho no Kaitai Shinsho”*. “Isho no Kaitai Shinsho” is not just a guide on “how to create a place to live.” It is a tool to deeply understand the structure and ecology of a “place”. Through this, we aim to provide new and multifaceted perspectives to coordinators who want to increase the variety of places in the region and people who want to be involved in “places of place.”
*Final episode: Thinking about the future of where I belong* The key to proceeding with the production of the “Isho no Kaitai Shinsho” will be the 9th edition, which will be held on September 25th. Together with our guest Mr. Yuasa, we will discuss the future of local ecosystems and “places” with the aim of creating a region where everyone can feel happy.
The event will be held online using Zoom, so you can participate from anywhere in the country. To participate in the final episode of “Anatomy of a Place,” please apply using the link below.
