Regarding the presentation ceremony of “High Power 2WAY Lantern Light” to Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture
Sompo Japan Insurance Co., Ltd. (President: Koji Ishikawa, hereinafter referred to as “Sompo Japan”) is located in Okazaki City, Aichi Prefecture (Mayor: Nakane).
Based on the “comprehensive partnership agreement” concluded with Yasuhiro, we presented “High Power 2-way Lantern Lights (620 items)” as emergency supplies.
When a large-scale disaster occurs in Okazaki City, the “High Power 2WAY Lantern Light” presented this time will be used mainly for disaster victims.
*1. Background/story*
In October 2020, Okazaki City and Sompo Japan concluded a
“Comprehensive Collaboration Agreement” to improve local disaster prevention capabilities, improve the convenience of citizens’ lives, and promote regional revitalization.
Sompo Japan presented the “High Power 2-Way Lantern Light”, a disaster stockpile, with the aim of providing services that contribute to security, safety, and health, and contributing to improving regional disaster prevention capabilities.
*2. Purpose of gift*
– Okazaki City and Sompo Japan are working in close mutual collaboration and cooperation to implement initiatives aimed at improving Okazaki City’s local disaster prevention capabilities. – As part of our efforts, we have decided to give away “high-power 2-way lantern lights” that can be used in the event of natural disasters, which have been occurring frequently in recent years.
*3. Main initiatives after conclusion of comprehensive agreement* (1) Joint creation of preservation version of disaster manual (Okazaki City x Sompo Japan)
(2) Co-hosting Disaster Prevention QUEST (a disaster prevention experience event held at Kagoda Park in Okazaki City)
(3) Presentation of emergency toilets (1,000 items), disaster prevention towels (500 items), etc.

Sompo Japan will continue to work in close collaboration and cooperation with Okazaki City to improve local disaster prevention capabilities, improve the convenience of citizens’ lives, and promote regional revitalization.
