The exhibition “Igokutamaru, Mataiigo” with the theme of slime mold will be held from September 20th to September 29th in Tanabe City and Shirahama Town, Wakayama Prefecture!
*Works by approximately 20 artists will be exhibited at a total of 9 venues. New works created based on regional research will also appear. *
Kinan Art Week (Executive Committee Chair/General Producer: Yabumoto Yuto) will hold an art event “Igotamaru, Mataiigo” with the theme of “slime mold” in Tanabe City and Shirahama Town, Wakayama Prefecture from September 20th (Friday) to September 29th (Sunday), 2024. will be held. The non-profit organization ZESDA (Representative Director: Daisuke Sakuraba, Location: Chuo-ku, Tokyo) will support the holding of the conference.

This year, the works of about 20 artists will be exhibited at a total of 9 venues, including main exhibitions and collaborative exhibitions.

▶ Tanabe City’s “Main Exhibition” area has multiple exhibits in a compact area that can be explored on foot.

Geert Mulu, who is currently participating in the two-month Kinan Art Residency from the Netherlands to study Minakata Kumagusu; Southeast Asian artists such as Taiki Sakpisit, Truong Kong Tung, and Tis Kanita, who have been attracting attention around the world in recent years; and Japan. Also scheduled to exhibit are notable young artists Mitsue Yamauchi and Hiroko Kubo, as well as Naoko Kimura, who has ties to Kinan, Kohei Maeda, and AWAYA.
