[Held on 10/21] Information on the 2nd Edge Tea Theory: Prospects for the future developed through co-creation: Development and social implementation of cellulose-based composite materials
*Held at AIRBIC (Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture) on Monday, October 21, 2024! *
We will hold multiple seminars for engineers, researchers, and new business managers on the theme of the latest trends and utilization of research and development related to the cutting-edge technology possessed by the Shin-Kawasaki Soso no Mori base.
After each session, a variety of topics will be presented by the instructors, and time will be set aside for the instructors and participants to exchange opinions in a casual atmosphere, providing a place to create new value that goes beyond traditional industry frameworks.
On Monday, October 21, 2024, as the 2nd Edge Tea Theory,
From Kenji Aoki, Associate Professor/PhD (Engineering), Faculty of Global Co-Creation Science, Shizuoka University
“Development of cellulose/resin composite materials ~ Nano potential and micro practicality ~”
The theme will be held.

(Event overview)
At this seminar, high expectations were placed on biomass materials with low environmental impact.
Focusing on cellulose nanofibers (CNF) and microfibrillated cellulose (MFC), Associate Professor Aoki of Shizuoka University talks about material development and its social implementation towards the realization of a decarbonized society.
I will be giving a lecture. In addition, in the second part, Mr. Kataoka from WIL Consulting Co., Ltd. will be invited as a lecturer. Together with participants from different industries and positions, we freely came up with ideas for utilizing CNF/MFC,
Share what you noticed. This is an interactive group work focusing on “CNF” and “MFC”.
We will explore applications in different fields through the exchange of opinions not only among experts but also among a wide variety of participants.
We will have lively discussions in a homely atmosphere. Please join us.

[Lecturer]
Shizuoka University, Faculty of Global Co-creation Science, Associate Professor/Ph.D. (Engineering) Kenji Aoki
[Introduction]
Achieving a decarbonized society requires innovative efforts in various fields such as energy, materials, and systems.
Technological development is essential. In the materials field, there is an urgent need for social implementation of cellulose/resin composite materials.
Until now, we have carried out research and development to uniformly disperse nano- to micro-sized cellulose in resin.
I went there. Cellulose nanofiber (CNF) has a three-dimensional network structure formed at the nano level.
The resulting characteristics and microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) contribute to the elimination of plastics,
Introducing a horizontally recyclable composite material with a high elastic modulus/impact strength balance.
■15:55-16:40 Group work
Interactive group work that takes advantage of technological innovation [Lecturer]
WIL Consulting Co., Ltd. Representative Director and CEO Yutaka Kataoka [Introduction]
This is a workshop to deepen your understanding of Professor Aoki’s “Advanced Technology Utilization Course.”
Reflect on the lecture and exchange opinions in groups.
We aim to bridge the gap between theory and practice by exploring the possibilities of technology and how to apply it to practice. ■16:40-17:00 Exchange meeting/discussion between instructors and participants
