Released “Integrated Data 2023 Edition” which aggregates the “voices” of 7,691 people involved in pregnancy and childcare in 24 regions Kizuna Mail is an NPO that aims to prevent orphaned children and operates the Kizuna Mail project, which distributes information on child rearing to local governments across the country.
・The project announced the “Integrated Data 2023 Edition” (hereinafter referred to as “Integrated Data”), which is a total of reader surveys from 24 regions (municipalities) that utilize Kizuna Mail. The total number of respondents was 7,691. Thank you to all our readers for their cooperation.
The Kizuna Mail project is a text message (Kizuna Mail manuscript) produced by a production supervision team made up of multiple doctors based on welfare editorial policies and delivered to pregnant and child-rearing households via LINE and email. Specifically, we are recruiting parents of infants and their entire families from the fetal stage to their third birthday (*) to register, and once they have registered their expected birth date or child’s birthday, the registration will start from the next day. You will receive messages about fetal development and childcare advice. Although it is mainly carried out as a childcare information distribution project by local governments, the NPO aims to prevent “solitary parenting” and infant abuse by using it as a “safety net to prevent families raising children from becoming isolated.”
*In some local governments, the distribution period is long until before school starts.
The questionnaire conducted as part of the project is positioned as a “public hearing questionnaire” that listens to the voices of families raising children, and the “integrated data” is a total of these.
The 2023 survey received responses from 1,186 people during pregnancy and 6,505 people during childcare. When asked, “Has reading had an impact on your daily life or feelings?” 25.0% of people who chose “Feel less anxious” during pregnancy, 20.7% when raising children, and “Loneliness.” 9.1% of those who chose “Feelings are soft” during pregnancy and 21.2% during childcare.

The survey also included multiple open-ended questions to give respondents, who are pregnant and raising children, an opportunity to express their thoughts and feelings, and 5,165 responses were received.
The organization will appeal to people involved in child and child-rearing support, as well as researchers, to utilize and analyze the data.
