RUN is a running event sponsored by Garmin that has been held in Asian countries since 2021. The event will be held for the first time in Japan in December 2023 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Forerunner series of running watches. It was a running event where all runners, from those just starting running to those aiming for the best time, could do their best and have fun, and a wide range of runners participated, and it was very popular. In response to popular demand, the second event will be held on a larger scale.

The second “GARMIN RUN JAPAN”
2025” will be held on January 13, 2025 (Monday holiday). The venue was chosen to be Ajinomoto Stadium, which hosts many sporting events and allows more runners to participate. The event will be the same as last time, 5km and 10km.
Due to the large number of people who applied last time, the number of participants has increased significantly to a total of 4,000 people. It has become a large-scale running event that all runners can easily participate in.
In the 2023 event, track and field athlete Satoru Akasaki and entertainer Sakura Inoue participated as guest runners, but this time Garmin ambassador Yuki Kawauchi is scheduled to participate. You can enjoy the experience of running around Ajinomoto Stadium with Japan’s top runners.

2023 “GARMIN RUN JAPAN” event

Born in 1987.
He started running in the first grade of elementary school, and was a member of the track and field club in middle school, high school, and university.
During his time at Gakushuin University, he twice participated in the Hakone Ekiden 6th division as a Kanto Gakuren selection. After graduating from university, he joined the Saitama Prefectural Office and continued to compete as a “citizen runner.”
Using his unique training methods, such as the “Kawauchi Method,” in which “racing is practice,” he continued to compete in domestic and international competitions, including the World Athletics
Championships. In 2019, he became a professional runner, and while pursuing his own potential, he is also focusing on community contribution activities centered on the “Marathon Caravan.”
