*Brinc Japan Co., Ltd.* (Representative Director: Kyoya Okazawa, hereinafter “Brinc”)
Mama Sora Co., Ltd. (Japan) aims to promote diversity in Japanese society, foster an entrepreneurial spirit, and produce entrepreneurs who will be active in the world.
(Representative Director: Emi Okuda, hereinafter referred to as “Mama Sora”) announced the conclusion of a “Memorandum of Collaboration on Supporting Children and Women’s Entrepreneurship*” (hereinafter referred to as the “MoU”).
* Based on this MoU, Brinc
Japan and Mama Sora will jointly hold an event to foster children’s entrepreneurship and an event to support women’s business startups at the Osaka/Kansai Expo to be held in 2025.*
At the children’s event scheduled to be held at the Osaka/Kansai Expo, children from all over the world with great ideas will interact with each other on the theme of various issues facing the world, and will also present their ideas in front of financial institutions and companies. By having the children actually make a pitch, we will work with the children to chart a path to realizing their ideas. For female entrepreneurs, Brinc
Japan
By offering a hands-on accelerator program and holding a demo day at the Osaka/Kansai Expo, we will accelerate the growth of female entrepreneurs and support their expansion into the world.
■Aim of collaboration
With the rapid changes in society, there is a need for the evolution of education around the world, and in Japan, entrepreneurship is receiving increasing attention, with the government announcing plans to strengthen entrepreneurship education in elementary, junior high, and high schools in 2022. On the other hand, it is difficult to say that entrepreneurship is an attractive option for young people in Japanese society, and one survey found that “Many people in your country believe that starting a new business is a desirable career choice.” Only 20% of Japanese people agreed with the statement, “I think so.” This figure is one of the lowest in the world. (Source: Mizuho Information & Research Institute “Survey on Entrepreneurship” March 2020)
In addition, the advancement of women in society is a major issue in Japan, and Japan ranks 116th out of 146 countries in the 2022 Gender Gap Index released by the World Economic Forum. Even in the startup field, there are not many female entrepreneurs, and even if they have a great idea, they are unable to start a business due to reasons such as “difficult to balance childbirth and childcare” and “not receiving enough support.” Currently, there are still high hurdles for women to start a business in Japan, such as the hesitation of starting a business.
Brinc Japan
Mama Sora and Mama Sora share this awareness of the challenges faced by the current state of Japanese society, and share a common vision of “promoting the diversity of Japanese society by providing Japanese children and women with the option of starting a business.” We have concluded this MoU. Brinc
Japan
and Mama Sora will leverage their respective strengths and work with various partners, including financial institutions and companies, to support children and women in realizing their dreams.

Brinc has the know-how of supporting entrepreneurs globally
What resonated with me the most about Japan was the passion to sincerely approach the essential issues of nurturing Japanese entrepreneurs and to make them better. We concluded the MoU because we felt there was great potential in expanding the career horizons and options for women and children, not only in Japan but also in Asia and the world.
In addition, by increasing the number of women and mothers with entrepreneurship and a global perspective, we will create a culture and child-rearing and education style suitable for the coming times, and a society in which the next generation of young people and children will be able to take on challenges and play an active role. We aim to

* ■About Mama Sora*
As one of Japan’s largest mom communities, Mama Sora works with governments and companies to develop childcare support businesses and career support businesses for women throughout Japan.
The founder herself experienced the loneliness and anxiety of raising children and the difficulty of continuing and balancing a woman’s career, and in order to solve these social issues, she founded the company in 2013 with the concept of “from the brightness of mothers to a bright future.” Through social media and events, the circle of mothers’ empathy has expanded, and the community has grown to include 12 chapters and 20,000 members nationwide. We have produced women who are active in their communities and society, including members of parliament, business managers, and PTA presidents.
For children, starting in 2023, we will hold community-based work experience events that foster children’s dreams, hopes, and career views through collaboration between industry, government, and academia under the theme of “excitement for all children.”
We are sponsoring “Mirai no Takarabako”. The event was held in Osaka in November 2023, and over two days, 82 companies participated and 17,000 parents and children visited. The event will be held in five cities in 2024, with the goal of expanding nationwide by 2030 and attracting 700,000 people per year.
By expanding career possibilities and options for women and children, and connecting them to the joy and happiness of work, we realize individual well-being and continue to develop as a community that creates a virtuous cycle for the region and society.
