Keio SC Creation Co., Ltd., a member of the Keio Group (Head office: Tama City, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Furuya) Keiko) is located on the north side of Torie Keio Chofu C Building (1-35-38 Kojima-cho, Chofu City) and was designated by the “Pedestrian Convenience Improvement System” *
As the occupier of the “Convenience Promotion Area (hereinafter referred to as the “Area”), we will gradually improve the environment and hold the grand opening as (New) Tetsumichi on Saturday, September 14, 2024. *

The former railway site on the north side of the Torie Keio Chofu C building due to the undergrounding of the Keio Line will be
temporarily used by Torie Keio Chofu, which is operated by our company, for approximately 6 years from September 2017 to September 2023 as a “Tetsumichi” (hereinafter referred to as “Tetsumichi”). We have operated “(formerly) Tetsumichi”). This time, in addition to utilizing the know-how built up through the operation of (formerly) Tetsumichi,*
Reflecting the feedback from our users, we have created a space where many people visiting this area can spend their time in their own way. *
Also, to commemorate the grand opening, *
An opening event will be held from Saturday, September 14, 2024 to Monday, September 16, 2024 (holiday), including the distribution of original stickers and the opening of a food truck. *

We will continue to strengthen our collaboration with Chofu City and strive to further revitalize and improve the appeal of this area and the area around Chofu Station. *

Details are as below.

*1. (New) Background to Tetsumichi’s grand opening*
* (1) Keio Line Chofu Station underground, temporary use of former railway site*

In 2012, with the completion of the Keio Line/Sagamihara Line (near Chofu Station) Continuous Overpass Project, the railway was moved underground, and in 2017, Keio Corporation (Headquarters: Tama City, Tokyo, President and CEO) was built on land directly above the station. : Miyakomura
Satoshi) (hereinafter referred to as “Keio Electric Railway”) has opened Torie Keio Chofu (hereinafter referred to as “this
facility”). Due to the underground construction, we plan to sell the land other than this facility in stages, and in conjunction with the opening of this facility, we will open (former) Tetsumichi as a temporary use, and the facility will remain in operation until September 2023. It was operated and then sold to Chofu City.

* (2) Regarding redevelopment based on the pedestrian convenience promotion road system (*1)*

In July 2023, city road S56 (formerly Minami 14) was designated as a road to promote pedestrian convenience based on the provisions of Article 48-20, Paragraph 1 of the Road Act (Act No. 180 of 1950), and in September 2023 In April, a convenience promotion guidance area pursuant to Article 33, Paragraph 2 of the same law was designated within the road, and development was carried out by Chofu City.

After that, Keio Electric Railway applied for a public call for occupiers for “pedestrian convenience promotion facilities, etc.” in this area, and was selected as the occupier (*2). Then, we selected and designed the installations with the aim of creating a comfortable road space that does not impair its function as a road, while preserving the memory of the former railway site and the (old) Tetsumichi during its temporary use. We have carried out the maintenance in stages.

*1 “Pedestrian convenience improvement road (commonly known as Hokomichi) system means that road administrators designate routes for “pedestrian convenience promotion roads” and set up “convenience promotion guidance areas” within those sections. Standards have been relaxed, allowing tables and chairs that are difficult to install on roads to be installed on roads, which is expected to lead to the creation of roadside bustle and regional revitalization.

*2 In February 2024, Keio Corporation Development Business
Headquarters SC Sales Department (Head office: Tama City, Tokyo, Representative Director and President: Miyakomura)
Satoshi) was certified as a prospective occupier, and the status of occupier was succeeded to Keio SC Creation Co., Ltd., whose business was transferred through an absorption-type company split on Monday, July 1 of the same year.

*2. (New) About Tetsumichi installations and space creation*

Based on the usage status of the (former) Tetsumichi that this facility operated, we have installed the following with the aim of creating a space where a pedestrian space and a place for relaxation coexist while giving due consideration to safety. I did.
(New) Tetsumichi overall floor plan
* (1) Blackboard play hill *

Wooden fixtures painted entirely with chalkboard paint. The drawing area that was popular at (old) Tetsumichi has been recreated in three dimensions. You can draw freely using the chalk provided nearby. * (2) Grass play hill*
A stair-shaped wooden fixture entirely covered with artificial grass. It is envisioned that it can be used for sitting or lying down like a sofa, or as a viewing seat or exhibition stand during events. * (3) Remake furniture*
We remade the furniture (barrels and benches with plants) used at the (old) Tetsumichi by hand painting them together with the children. * (4) Wood Play Hill *
A stair-shaped wooden fixture that combines parts of various shapes. We envision a variety of ways to use it, such as sitting and relaxing, or allowing children to play freely.
* (5) Long table*
By reusing the scraps of the fixtures used in the (old) Tetsumichi for the top plate, we inherited the memory of those days, and the legs express the atmosphere of rails. We envision various ways to use it, such as for work or lunch.
* (6) Rail bed*
A bed with wheels (wood type, artificial turf type) was installed on top of the rails buried as a legacy of the former railway site. It is envisioned that it can be used as a place to lie down or sit, or as a product display shelf during events such as marches.
