This year will be the first time that the “Futaba Fireworks” will be held in Futaba Town, Fukushima Prefecture on Saturday, September 28, 2024. It originally started as a memorial fireworks display held in Futaba Town on the 10th anniversary of the earthquake. There are no buildings around the folklore museum, and it is a vast piece of land that stretches as far as the eye can see. This means that there is nothing to obstruct the fireworks, making it a perfect venue for fireworks displays.
Approximately 10,000 fireworks will be set off, one of the largest in Fukushima Prefecture. The large shakudama launches approximately 300 meters into the air and is more than 400 meters wide.
The large fireworks that are unobstructed by buildings and spread out right in front of your eyes are a unique sight that Futaba Fireworks cannot experience in the city center.
