Aki Tamiya’s profile is very impressive.

When talking about his own pottery and pottery making, and when touching on his own works,
I was particularly impressed by the exhilaration and innocent profile of her face.

Created after she purely enjoys interacting with the earth and leaves her hands and passes through the fire.
I find it very endearing to see her look forward to seeing that expression more than anyone else.

At this exhibition, we will be exhibiting works that are reminiscent of her profile.
I would like to define my new love for pottery.

If you look at the profile of each pottery, you will notice that this is the part of the kiln that comes into contact with the fire the most.
You can clearly see that each one has its own unique expression.

Aki Tamiya’s transformation of the kiln created from earth and fire, and the handprints created from her potter’s wheel.
Please pay attention to and enjoy the profile of each piece, which was born out of a deep love for pottery.

* Tamiya Aki*

Born in Tokyo. Built a kiln in Mashiko in 1996. He began his career as a writer while interacting with Seiichi Imanari and Ryo Aoki. In 1999, he moved his base of activity to Shizuoka, where he continues to create pottery in an anagama kiln, focusing on unglazed firing. CIBONE CASE in 2020 and 2021
In addition to the “Return to Ceramics” exhibition held at GINZA SIX, his primitive style is attracting attention.

Exhibition work “Vase”

Fired in an anagama kiln for 10 days in a workshop in Shizuoka, surrounded by lush greenery. As if buried in the soil, the pot is covered with plenty of ash, giving it a beautiful natural appearance.

Price: 25,000 yen to 850,000 yen (price may change)
Size: H100×W105 (mm) ~ H700×W560 (mm)

Exhibited works “Large plate” and “Bottle”
It has a rough texture that gives you a feeling that it will become familiar to your hands. The reason why I think this is a very human work is because it is not the result of relying on karma, but because it gives a sense of simplicity and strength. There will be large flat plates and pots that are not exhibited at regular art exhibitions.

Price: 20,000 yen to 45,000 yen (price may change)
Size: H50×W270(mm) ~ H60×W350(mm)
