The executive committee (operated by NibLinks Co., Ltd., tournament executive committee chairperson: Teru Yakushiji) is hosting the Oman Golf Trophy 2024, the first Japanese qualifying round since the establishment of the global amateur golf tournament Oman Golf Trophy. The first match of the Japan National Team Championship was held on August 29, 2024 (Thursday) at Pacific Gotemba West.
This tournament was held in three categories: underhandicap, challenge, and wildcard, which were held using handicap indexes (WHS indexes published by JGA), and 1st place was won in each category. All amateur golfers will be given the right to participate in the main event of the Oman Golf Trophy 2024, which will be held in the Sultanate of Oman from December 9th (Monday) to December 12th, 2024 (Thursday), 2024. This is an amateur golf world tournament where you will be given the chance to become the Japan representative.
In the preliminary round held at Pacific Gotemba West as the first round, Shingo Kato (left in the photo) competed in the underhandicap category and Hiroko Ozaki (right in the photo) competed in the challenge category despite bad weather and an approaching typhoon. – Obtained the right to participate in the main tournament held in the Sultanate.

The Oman Golf Trophy is the world amateur golf tournament that has been held since 2023 as part of the Oman Vision 2040, an economic initiative spearheaded by the Oman government under the leadership of His Majesty the Sultan of Oman, His Majesty Haitham bin Tariq. It’s a tournament. The first tournament was held in Italy with a qualifying round, in which 900 amateur golfers participated, and at the grand finale held in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, 14 elite players competed for the championship.
Following the success of the first tournament, it has been decided that the final of the second tournament will be held in December 2024 at Oman’s world-famous golf course, Al Mouj Golf. Preliminary rounds will be held at 80 venues around the world from April to October 2024, with a total of 7,400 amateur golfers competing for the right to participate in the final tournament.
