The world’s highest international action sports competition “X” Games” is coming to Chiba City. The final day, September 22nd (Sunday), was a new sport at the Olympic Games called “Breaking”. It has been decided that a showcase and exhibition battle will be held.
“Breaking” is a dance style that excites the audience with spinning techniques such as “power moves”, “head spins”, and complex “steps” performed to the music of a DJ. Although it has now established itself as a sport, its roots have developed as a part of street culture, similar to skateboarding and BMX.
Japanese athletes, both male and female, have world-class skills, and have competed not only at the Paris Olympics but also in numerous dance battles, including B Boy & B.
Girls are achieving brilliant results.
