What is Haman Rakubi Nori?
Haman Nakbi-nori, which has been designated as an intangible heritage in Gyeongsangnam-do, is a rope made of charcoal powder woven from paper or cloth, which is then hung from a string and lit, creating a fantastical scene of falling sparks. It is a traditional fire festival that creates a beautiful scenery. Because it uses natural materials without the use of gunpowder, it is safe with less risk of
environmental pollution, burns, and noise. This folk event, which began as a prayer for the peace of the people of Haman County, is held every year on Buddha’s birthday (April 8th in the lunar calendar), and includes celebratory performances, festival events, bonfire lighting, performances by invited singers, and fireworks. You can enjoy it along with various other attractions. In addition, Haman Nakbi Nori has been held once a year as an annual event, but as its popularity has increased and the number of spectators has increased, we will introduce a reservation system from 2024 and will develop and operate travel products.
