Buko Onsen (Yokose Town, Saitama Prefecture, hereafter Buko Onsen) will hold “100 Thank You Baths” and “Long Tree (Long Life) Baths” using thinned wood from Yokose as a Respect for the Aged Day event.

-100 Thank You Bath/Long Wooden Bath-
Implementation date: Friday, September 13, 2024 to Monday, September 23, 2024 Location: Men’s and women’s open-air baths

In the 100 Thank You Bath, children and store staff who visit Buko Onsen float cypress trees with messages written to their grandparents in the bath to express their daily gratitude.

For a long wooden bath, a single long log is placed in the bath. This bath is a combination of the words “long wood” and “long life,” and is a symbol of longevity.

Both use thinned wood from Yokose, and we hope that the active use of thinned wood will provide an opportunity to think about local forest maintenance. Please be healed by the message and the scent of cypress.
