……
METAWATER Co., Ltd. (President: Kenji Yamaguchi, Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo) recently held a “Private Company Training for Teachers” sponsored by the Economic Information Center, a general incorporated foundation. This training has been conducted by the Economic Information Center since 1983 as part of its efforts to “promote communication between the educational and business worlds,” and has teachers receive a variety of training at private companies to help them understand how to think about business activities and how to put them into practice. The purpose of the training is to deepen your understanding of the content, human resource development initiatives, and social responsibilities that should be fulfilled, and to utilize what you learn in the training in your school education and school management.
This is the 6th time that our company has accepted this training, following 2023.
Continuing from last year, we are collaborating with the Sewerage Department of Machida City, Tokyo, a member of the joint research body, in the selected project *2 of the “Innovative Sewerage Technology Demonstration Project (B-DASH Project)” *1 implemented by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. We accepted 23 teachers from the Machida City Board of Education. The training included facility tours of the Yokohama City Waterworks Bureau’s Kawai Water Treatment Plant Serarocca and the Machida City Sewage Treatment Plant Naruse Clean Center, which our group is responsible for operating and maintaining. Over the course of two days, the participants learned about the importance of water circulation with a focus on water supply and sewerage systems, including conducting water retention experiments using a patented system (patented by the Bureau), drawing water, providing an overview of Machida City’s sewer system, and observing microorganisms that are essential for sewage treatment. At the conclusion of the training program, we created an original lesson to convey to the children the importance of the water cycle and water supply and sewage projects, based on the experiences and learnings from the training.
