Following Tokyo, it has been decided that the event will be held in Setouchi! Why has Setouchi been loved by visitors to Japan? “Inbound Summit in Setouchi” to think about the future of inbound tourism together with the region
*The “Inbound Summit in Setouchi” will be held both online and offline for two days, November 7th and 8th, 2024. *
MATCHA Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Yu Aoki) will hold the “Inbound Summit in Setouchi” on Thursday, November 7th and Friday, November 8th, 2024. This summit is a local version of the Inbound Summit to be held in Tokyo on September 19, 2024, and this year it will be set in Ehime Prefecture, where we will deepen discussions about the future of inbound tourism with businesses in the Setouchi area.

* -Holding Background-*
“Inbound Summit in Setouchi” is a conference for thinking about the future of Setouchi together with the region. The Setouchi area is a special place visited by many tourists from Japan and abroad, and while it is home to ancient nature and culture, it has also developed as a region where cutting-edge art and arts grow. However, the system for accepting tourists varies by region, and there are many issues such as serious labor shortages and problems with successors. If this kind of population decline continues, there is a possibility that nostalgic lifestyle scenes and the preserved original scenery of Japan will be lost.
At this summit, leaders from Ehime and other areas of Setouchi will gather to discuss the future of Setouchi. In addition to learning about the challenges and possibilities of inbound tourism through keynote speeches and talk sessions, a variety of other content is also available, including exhibitions and social gatherings. Please look forward to these two precious days, where we will think together about why Setouchi continues to attract so many people, and how local residents can communicate Japan’s opportunities and carve out a future.
*This event will be held as part of the Ehime Prefecture Triangle Ehime Promotion Project.
