“Ultra” will be held for the third time at Ikebukuro Sunshine City. acosta!” The first day, September 6th (Friday), was an all-night event from 10:00pm to 11:00pm, with photo sessions and social gatherings held in Sunshine City late at night, which is normally closed to the public, as well as the cosplay dance entertainment festival “CDEF” held at the same time. ” was held for four hours, and the venue was filled with enthusiasm that was hard to believe it was late at night. For two days, September 7th (Saturday) and September 8th (Sunday), all the halls of Sunshine City, Sunshine Plaza, and the adjacent Higashiikebukuro Central Park will be held as venues, and the largest event ever will attract cosplayers and cosplayers from all over the country. Photographers arrived and started lining up early in the morning. An opening ceremony was held at the fountain plaza from 12:00 on the 7th (Saturday), with Toshima Ward Mayor Miyuki Takagiwa, Animate Holdings Co., Ltd. Managing Director Yasuhiro Niwa, and Sunshine City Co., Ltd. Managing Director Hironobu Kawakami in attendance. In addition, four other Ikebukuro cosplay PR ambassadors, Momo Momoto, Zumi, Shokora, and Suzura, will also be on stage. While various projects are being held at various locations at the venue, a total of 218 groups, mainly cosplayers, will be exhibiting at the cosplay doujin sales event “acosta! Marche,” where they will sell merchandise and have photo sessions. At the venue, there were many middle and high school students who came to acosta! for the first time to meet their favorite cosplayers they found on SNS. We heard comments such as “It’s so realistic and beautiful…” and “I want to try cosplay next time,” and we hope that the new generation of cosplay culture will flourish.
We were blessed with sunny skies from the first day to the last day, the 8th (Sunday), and 23,000 people participated in the three-day event, which was more than 20,000 people last year. There were 2,500 teenage participants, a significant increase from 1,500 the previous year.
From now on, acosta! will be held at Nagano Komaba Park on September 21st and 22nd, Ikebukuro Sunshine City and Osaka Dotonbori Cosplay Festival on September 28th and 29th, and will continue to spread the charm and fun of cosplay all over the country. I will deliver it.
