“Systemic Design Seminar” sponsored by issue design ~Hirotada Ototake will be invited as a guest to hold a dialogue event to think about social system reform~
*Held on Saturday, October 5th at Tokyo Midtown Design Hub, also streamed online*
Issue Plus Design (Representative: Yusuke Kakei), a specified non-profit organization, will welcome Hirotada Ototake, an author and opinion leader in the field of diversity and minorities in Japan, as a special guest on Saturday, October 5, 2024. We will be holding a “Systemic Design Seminar” series. At this event, we will learn about design approaches to social issues and deepen dialogue on the theme of social system transformation.

*Providing a forum for dialogue towards social system change* We, issue design, have created books such as “How to navigate the world with dementia,” “Parent and Child Health Handbook,” “School Activities Together,” and “Pre-Single Mothers Handbook,” etc. for people who are called minorities. I have been working on a project for. Due to prejudice and discrimination, people in socially weaker positions are still looked down upon and face many barriers and difficulties.
A society where people who are called minorities can live in an easy way is a kind society where everyone can live in an easy way. With this in mind, we continue to take on the challenge of transforming the Japanese social system through design for minorities.

In the “Systemic Design Seminar” series, we welcome guests who are taking on the challenge of reforming social systems in various fields, and deepen their learning about system change that goes beyond problem solving.
Our guest this time is author Hiromasa Ototake. Mr. Ototake is working hard to realize an inclusive society by transforming the social system itself through education and politics. We will welcome opinion leaders in Japan’s diversity and minority fields as guests, and together we will think about what is needed to transform Japan’s social system and what Japan should be like in the future.

The moderator is Megumi Hinami Arai, a female entrepreneur who is also active on government committees. He deepened the discussion by drawing on his experience of starting a business during his university days and trying to create a better social system by understanding the diverse ways of families without being bound by traditional views on family and marriage.
