MATCH1: [AWAY] Hiroshima TEAM iXA vs Crazy Raccoon [HOME]
[Image 2
■Spearhead match: ⚪︎ Hikaru (A.K.I.) (classic) vs Bonchan (Akuma) (classic) × “Hikaru” aggressively used his drive gauge to attack his opponent from the beginning, and was able to successfully take the lead in the first BATTLE by engaging in mutual readings. On the other hand, “Bonchan” also takes advantage of Akuma’s high attack power and quickly regains the second battle. At the end of the spearhead battle, which involved a full set, Hikaru’s skillful “air-to-air” and “lethal combo” from landing hunting were decided in a difficult situation. He achieved his third win of the season with a splendid play typical of Hikaru.
■Medium match: ⚪︎ ACQUA player (Blanka) (classic) vs Shuto player (Akuma) (classic) ×
“ACQUA player” Blanka’s attack continues to capture “Shuto player” in an interesting way. “Shuto” tries to fight back by making full use of “Invincible Technique Rampage” and other techniques, but he is unable to change the trend that has once turned towards “ACQUA Player.” “ACQUA player” continued the match with an overwhelming advantage, and at the end, he used Super Arts Lv. 2 “Lightning Beast” to attack his opponent at the edge of the screen and win. “ACQUA” achieved a complete victory with a strategy that even exceeded the measures that “Shuto” had prepared.
■General match: × Hibiki (Lily) (classic) vs. Dogura (Vega) (classic) ⚪︎ “Crazy Raccoon” wants to break the bad trend so far, and team leader “Dogura” will participate in Vega to challenge “Hibiki”‘s Lily. From the first BATTLE, “Dogura” showed off his amazing countermeasures against Lily and took control of the match. He continues to stop Lily from doing what she wants to do with his strong defense and brilliant moves. As it was, “Dogura” won in straight sets, 3-0, in a match that could be described as almost perfect. This was their first win since last season, and it was a big win that helped the team out of a predicament.
■Overtime: × Hikaru (A.K.I.) (Classic) vs Kazunoko (Cammy) (Classic) ⚪︎ Hikaru, who is playing in the SF League for the first time and is undefeated so far and is leading the team, was joined by Kazunoko, the fourth player of the day for Crazy Raccoon. From the beginning, “Kazunoko” accurately stops “Hikaru”s special attack, “Dry Brush,” and corners the opponent at the edge of the screen. Cammy’s specialty, aerial attacks, worked well and she easily won against Hikaru.
Thanks to the efforts of team leader “Dogura” and ace “Kazunoko”, “Crazy Raccoon” won a close battle and won.
I look forward to seeing him continue with this momentum and push toward the top of the rankings.
[Post-match interview with Dogura]
Q1.: “Crazy Raccoon” has had some tough times, but what kind of efforts have you made to prepare for today?
Dogura: Basically, I think it hasn’t changed that we have no choice but to practice even when things are tough. After all, everyone on the team has been practicing a tremendous amount, so I think this victory has come as a result of our ability to not get discouraged even when we lose, and not get discouraged even when things get tough. Q2.: Regarding the general battle, it seemed to be almost perfect, but what measures did you take?
Dogura: Originally, I was playing the game against Lily based on the atmosphere, but when I realized that it was going to happen this time, I tried to put everything together, and I was like, “Wow, that looks pretty cool.” I also watched all the replays of Hibiki playing against Vega and discovered Hibiki’s habits. We’ve put a lot of effort into character and human countermeasures, to the point where we feel like there’s nothing we can do if we lose.
Q3.: “Crazy Raccoon” is a team that is attracting a lot of attention, but is there anything in particular that you are conscious of in order to advance to the top?
Dogura: Nothing in particular. Watching from the sidelines, I feel that there are great expectations for me. When a player, myself included, is in a bit of a slump, I think people look at us like, “Are you okay?” But each and every player is truly top-notch, and we need to keep working hard. I think we can aim for a good ranking. I hope everyone can practice properly and aim for the championship. Q4: Lastly, please tell us your enthusiasm for the next chapter. Dogura: Well then, it looks a little broken. I feel like my opponent in the next section, VARREL, is having a bit of a hard time right now. After all, when it comes to teams that are struggling, we have to do everything in our power to score points and not let the team lose the match. My personal goal is to defeat Mago.
MATCH2: [AWAY] CAG OSAKA vs Yogibo REJECT [HOME]
[Image 3
■Spearhead match: ⚪︎ Fenritch (Blanka) (Classic) vs Tokido (Ken) (Classic) × “Tokido” said, “I’ve focused my efforts on one hit, Blanca,” while “Fenrich” continued to attack aggressively from the start and controlled the pace of the match. The first BATTLE was won by “Fenrich” who destroyed his opponent with an amazing attack at the edge of the screen. In the second BATTLE that follows, “Tokido” sharpens his opponent’s “drive gauge” and puts him in a “burnout” state, and then he regains his strength. In the third battle, Fenritch again uses the Drive Gauge to launch a fierce attack. At the end, they showed a tremendous “set play” using “Blanka-chan Bomb” and got a PERFECT K.O. I won the battle against the vanguard.
■Mid-level match: ⚪︎ Eita (Akuma) (Classic) vs Torimeshi (Dhalsim) (Classic) × Eita, who will be appearing in the SF League for the first time, appears and dominates the match from the beginning with his calm play that does not make him feel the pressure of his first appearance. He hits Akuma’s “Zankuu Hadouken” in a good way, giving him an advantage in the fighting. “Eita” did not show any of his invincible skills, which is one of his characteristics, and calmly cornered his opponent from beginning to end, scoring his first victory in his first appearance in the SF League.
■General match: × GO1 player (Chun-Li) (classic) vs LeShar player (Ed) (classic) ⚪︎
The general battle was a showdown between the team’s aces. All eyes were on LeShar, who has said that she respects GO1 players for some time, and what kind of measures she would take against Chun-Li and how she would deal with GO1 players. The style of play was for both players to maintain strong defense and keep putting pressure on the opponent, and it was a battle where you could feel their determination to defend every round and win. Meanwhile, “LeShar” was the first to seize the opportunity and took the lead in the match, showing a play that seemed to take advantage of “GO1 player”s super reaction. After that, the match continued to be breathtaking, but “LeShar” continued to play calmly until the very end and won the match at an extremely high level.
■Overtime: × Fenrich (Blanka) (Classic) vs. Tokido (Ken) (Classic) 〇 The overtime game was a revenge match for the lead battle. “Tokido” has changed his mind after the frustrating loss in the Sensho match. Compared to when he was in the vanguard battle, he continued to attack the opponent by leaning forward. “Tokido” not only attacked but also showed great defense to take the lead, and finally finished with Super Arts Lv. 3 “Shinryu Retsuha”. Tokido got his revenge after his last loss with his flexible ability to quickly change his moves.
“Yogibo REJECT” achieved their second win of the season, as if “Tokido” carried out the hope that “LeShar” held together with his will. Ready for a counterattack. I look forward to catching up from here.
[Post-match interview with LeShar & Tokido]
Q1.: First of all, “LeShar”, how do you look back on the Taisho match? LeShar: There’s definitely a lot of pressure in the Generals’ game, but the most important thing is for the team to win. That’s why I participated as a general this time as well. To be honest, I really wanted to beat the GO1 players. But the most important thing right now is the team’s victory, so that feeling hasn’t changed.
Q2.: I have a question for Tokido. There were some tough times, but what do you think of the atmosphere inside “Yogibo REJECT”?
Tokido: I’m relying on LeShar to keep me going, but I’m also helped by the communication between my team members. In particular, “Akira” lives far away, so we are unable to communicate face-to-face, but we are able to communicate well and there is a good atmosphere. Q3.: “LeShar” has joined “Yogibo REJECT” and there may be a slight language barrier, but please tell us how the team communicates. Tokido: LeShar’s Japanese is getting better and better. Also, I have decided to practice together with “LeShar” every day (offline), and when we are in the same space, communication naturally occurs, so I am also wondering how I can communicate with “LeShar”. I’m always thinking about that. As I said earlier, LeShar’s Japanese is getting better and better, so when it comes to communication, he’s gotten a lot better than when he first started. I think we can continue to improve on that, so it means we can still get stronger.
Q4.: Please tell us as much as possible about the team’s intentions regarding the appointment of Akira, who has not yet played this season.
Tokido: It’s not like I’m preserving it by any means. As a result, the order has ended up being like that. “Akira player” really wants to appear as well. He’s an extremely valuable force, so I’m sure he’ll show up at some point.
It’s fun even if he doesn’t play, but the league isn’t easy enough to survive without him, so when the time comes for him to play. Q5.: Lastly, please tell us your enthusiasm for the next chapter. LeShar: I’m good friends with Ryuukichi and we went to various tournaments together, so I want to win.
Tokido: Our next opponent is our old team “Belc FAV gaming”, but they are a team we are very wary of as they have added very strong members such as “TS” and “Ryuukichi”. However, since it is a game of victory, we will continue to work hard to win. I will let you win.
MACTH3: [AWAY] VARREL vs Belc FAV gaming [HOME]
[Image 4
■Spearhead match: 〇 Mago (Juri) (classic) vs Ryukichi (Ken) (classic) × The Shogun match was a showdown between the two players, who have been friends for 10 years since Ryukichi was a junior high school student. From the beginning, both players frequently used “just parries” and “invincible moves”, making it a see-saw game in which the match unfolded rapidly.
In a battle of ups and downs, the battle between the frontrunners entered a full set and full round. In the final ROUND, when Mago was cornered, his Super Arts Lv. 3 “Rotating Cutoff” was the decisive blow, and Mago won. It was a match that showed the veteran’s determination to not let him win easily.
■Medium match: 〇 Mizuha player (Cammy) (classic) vs sako player (Akuma) (classic) ×
A “mizu-ha” player who showed off his characteristic aggressive attacks from the start. Cammy’s various attacks toy with the opponent and destroy them all at once at the edge of the screen. Even in the final BATTLE where the match was decided, he showed a super reaction by engaging the Super Arts Lv. 3 “Delta Red Assault” against Akuma’s “Go Hadouken” and defeated “Sako”. With a brilliant move, they won the mid-major game without any danger, giving momentum to the team. ■General match: 〇 Daikoku player (Gile) (classic) vs Ryusei player (JP) (classic) ×
In contrast to Guile, a “big player” who wants to avenge his regrets from the first round, JP, a “Ryuusei player,” will be participating in “Belc FAV gaming.” While Ryusei’s JP tries to build up the match from the beginning with his specialty long-range attacks, “Daikoku Player” Guile aggressively closes the distance and engages in close combat. Guile’s offensive attitude, which would be unimaginable from his usual stance, was successful, and the “Daikoku player” quickly took control of the match. After that, “Daikoku” continued the match calmly despite the counterattacks of “Ryusei” and won the match against the general in straight sets. It was a happy first win in the SF League.
“VARREL” gained 40 points for the first time this season and rose to 4th place in the ranking.
There is no doubt that this victory will give the team momentum. I look forward to the battle from here.
[Post-match interview with Daikoku]
Q1.: It looks like you won the match against the generals, but please tell us what kind of practice you had and what kind of enthusiasm you had going into today’s match.
Daikoku: I had narrowed down my opponent to Ryusei, but it was difficult to decide which one to focus more on, Vega or JP, so I practiced with Vega at 70% and JP at 30%. I did. The game against JP was very different from the game against Vega in that it was a character that I had been practicing for a long time since last year. Also, I played against people who use JP and finished it, so here we are.
Q2.: What do you think about the combination of Guile and JP? Daikoku: I think Guile is at a slight disadvantage, but since he had been using countermeasures since last year, he was able to beat JP quite a bit, so I think he had an advantage in terms of skill. Q3.: When you participated in the first round, you said that you felt depressed after suffering a frustrating loss to a “GO1 player”. How did you recover?
Daikoku: The loss in the SF League cannot be erased unless we win in the SF League, so I thought it was a competitive period. As an initiative, I spent more time practicing than before participating last time, and thoroughly improved my tasks during that time. Q4.: Since this is your first time participating in the SF League, please tell us what you did to prepare for the league and how you mentally prepared.
Daikoku Player: First of all, I thought that if the players who are participating in the SF League did not think that “Daikoku is strong,” they would not be given the opportunity to participate in the SF League. In the SF League, there is a “Higuchi player” who also uses Guile, so in order to counter Higuchi, I asked various players, “How do you feel?” and played against each other. I felt like I was improving myself by competing in a high-level environment, so I think that kind of approach was the best.
Q5.: What is the current atmosphere like for practicing with your team members regarding VARREL, which you belong to?
Daikoku: The team generally has a cheerful atmosphere, but when it comes to deciding on orders and other matters, the team speaks very clearly. Everyone has a logical discussion based on data while also incorporating emotions, so I am able to fully understand what they are saying. I think it’s a really good team. During these discussions, I decided that I would have the highest chance of winning today’s general match, so I decided to participate.
Q6.: Please tell us your enthusiasm for the next chapter.
Daikoku: In today’s third round, the team has finally gained some momentum, so we will keep pushing forward without stopping this trend. I will do my best.
