[Kadokawa Daiei Studio] Dubbing stage reopened ~Dolby Atmos(R) compatible stage for theaters completed~
*Kadokawa Daiei Studio Co., Ltd. (Location: 6-1-1 Tamagawa, Chofu City, Tokyo, Representative Director Daiji Horiuchi, hereinafter Kadokawa Daiei Studio) uses Dolby for theatrical use.
We have started operating an Atmos compatible dubbing stage. * Renovated dubbing stage
A dubbing stage is a studio where final adjustments to the sound are made while playing the edited video in conditions similar to the actual viewing environment. The dubbing stage, designed for movie mixing work, is unique in that it is built to look like an actual movie theater.
▶Newly compatible with Dolby Atmos for theaters
During this renovation, we newly added support for Dolby Atmos. Dolby
Atmos (Dolby Atmos) is a technology that uses ceiling-mounted speakers in addition to conventional 5.1ch and 7.1ch surround systems to create a three-dimensional sound field in which sound can be heard from all directions, including top, bottom, left, and right. It is a standard that allows Additionally, audio tracks can be treated as individual “objects” and their location information rendered to individual speakers for object-based sound playback.

The 3D audio market, including Atmos, is booming with the rise of games, music, VR, and AR, and has recently attracted worldwide attention as an industry that will grow significantly in the future. Dolby
Atmos is a standard that is also used in movie production, and since this is the third stage in Japan to comply with this standard, it will be used to create a variety of video content, mainly movies that will be screened domestically and internationally. It is expected that
▶Acoustic space optimized for immersive audio
Mixing console is also Avid
Newly introduced S6. We selected equipment that achieves
high-resolution sound by using a 10MHz compatible Grandmaster Clock DXD-16. Additionally, while retaining the columnar diffuser AGS that creates a natural acoustic space, the acoustic interior architecture has been redesigned from the ground up. Dolby pays close attention to detail
We have achieved excellent acoustic characteristics suitable for Atmos.
▶ Calm design incorporating “Japanese”
The interior design of the stage has also been renewed to create a bright atmosphere unlike any other dubbing stage.
The walls in front of the stage are all black to enhance the sense of immersion in the video being played, while the rear of the stage has a “Japanese modern” design using Tanihata mumiko work, creating an optimal acoustic environment for editing. The space has evolved into a space where you can calmly work on your creations. In consideration of environmental issues, the newly created original work desk is made of natural linoleum material. This is an environmentally friendly stage that does not generate harmful substances during disposal.
Beautiful design with Kumiko work
