TIP-OFF
We would like to inform you that the 2024-25 season will begin in 2024. The opening game will feature two notable matches that represent the Asian basketball world.

The first game, which begins at 18:10 local time (broadcast starts at 18:00), will see the San Miguel Beermen, the 2023-24 Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup champions, compete as the runners-up team in the 2024 KBL Finals. We will be competing against South Korea’s Suwon KT Sonic Boom. The second game, starting at 8 p.m., will see 2024 PBA Philippine Cup champions Meralco Bolts take on Macau Basketball League champions Macau Black Bears.

The San Miguel Beermen are led by PBA legend and 10-time PBA Champion June Mar Fajardo, who has won the PBA Most Valuable Player award eight times.

Our opponent, Suwon KT Sonic Boom, has point guard Heo Hoon, who has excellent scoring and playmaking ability. Heo Hoon averaged 15.1 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.1 rebounds per game in the KBL last season.

Meralco Bolts are regulars in the EASL, with almost all of their key players returning this season. Star player Chris Newsome averaged 16.8 points in four games in the EASL last season, most notably scoring 27 points in the match against the Ryukyu Golden Kings to give Meralco their first win in the EASL.

The Macau Black Bears are coming off a record-breaking season and are led by point guard Jenning Leung, who has been with the team since January 2018.
