Photographed from the grounds of Aozora Republic in Hakushu, Hokuto City. “Aozora Republic” is a local activity (everyone’s hometown “dream” project) of the NPO National Network for Supporting Children with Intractable Diseases, and an inauguration meeting was held on July 16, 2011 at the International Conference Center of the National Olympic Memorial Youth Center in Yoyogi, Tokyo. He started. The founding project of the “Aozora Republic” is being carried out through donations from individuals, companies, and organizations.
Construction of facilities has gradually been completed, and currently there are five lodges that can accommodate up to 60 people, an outdoor stage, and Kid’s
Box (children’s playroom), Jabujabu pond, bath building, and exchange building (place for seminars and events) can be used.
“Aozora no Mori” includes a forest path, a Totoro tunnel, a tree deck, a shiitake mushroom cultivation area, and more, all of which are maintained every month by people from the nearby Suntory Hakushu factory.
There are a wide variety of events, including parent-child concerts and RDD (World Rare and Difficult Disease Day) events.
) Everyone from children to adults can participate in activities such as a doodle kids party, balloon rides that are wheelchair accessible, stargazing events, charity walks, and lectures on diseases and disabilities. The renewed Aozora Republic homepage includes articles, photos/videos, etc. about the facilities, event announcements, past newsletters, user comments, etc. We also have footage of families of wheelchair users actually staying at our hotel and introducing the facility in a YouTube video.
