[Notice of Oirase Academy] We are currently recruiting participants for the 3rd Grislot: Sustainable Tourism and the Future of Oirase – Toward Realizing the Open-Air Museum Concept.
Sponsored by the Oirase Towada Utilization Council, the Oirase Stream Ecotourism Project Executive Committee, and Aomori Prefecture, we promote the appeal and value of Oirase, accumulate intellectual information, and promote human resources involved in Oirase. Starting in fiscal 2024, we will be working on a continuing education program called “Oirase Academy” in collaboration with industry, academia, and government, with the aim of nurturing students. Towada Oirase Tourism Organization (TOWADA)
TRAVEL) is participating as the secretariat of the Oirase Keiryu Ecotourism Project Executive Committee and as a sponsor of this program.
The third event, held on Saturday, September 14th, will be held by Mayo Mieno, the University of Tokyo, which is also the godfather of green slow mobility.
We will invite a specially appointed associate professor to talk about transportation and tourism.
*Green slow mobility is electric public mobility for four or more people that can run on public roads at speeds of less than 20km/h. It is abbreviated as “Grislo” as a nickname. It is an electric car with low CO2 emissions and runs slowly, making it perfect for sightseeing in Oirase. In Oirase, we are conducting a social experiment using a gridiron in 2022 and 2023.
On the day, you will be able to hear about the characteristics of green slow mobility, other usage examples, global tourism and transportation trends, sustainable tourism, and the future of Oirase. We will also communicate our efforts.
We apologize for any inconvenience caused by your busy schedule, but we ask that you please give us special consideration when conducting interviews and reporting.
