Starting in December 2022, approximately 60,000 notebooks have been distributed free of charge in Kumamoto Prefecture so far, with the aim of further contributing to the local community, student support initiatives are taking a new turn.
*“J・O・NOTE” project will start in Kitakyushu/Miyazaki area in fall 2024*
Jono Printing Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Mashiki Town, Kamimashiki District, Kumamoto Prefecture, President and CEO: Hitoshi Jono, hereinafter referred to as the Company) will be targeting high schools in Kumamoto Prefecture from December 2022 as a community contribution activity to support student learning. Yomiuri Seibu IS Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Akasaka, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City, President and CEO: Yuki Inoue) will be pleased to inform you about the free distribution of original study notes “J・O・NOTE”. With cooperation, we will expand the implementation area of this activity and conduct it for the first time in September 2024 in two areas: Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture and Miyazaki Prefecture.

Our company, which prints graduation albums, supports students’ learning with SDGs Goal 4, “Quality education for everyone,” in mind. It is being expanded within the prefecture.
“J・O・NOTE” has the meaning of “support local students (J), support local students (O), and note (N).” In the fourth distribution held in July 2024, 16,000 notebooks were distributed to 95 schools in Kumamoto Prefecture, with the cooperation of 16 local supporting companies and organizations. To date, we have distributed a total of 61,000 books four times, supporting students’ learning.
Following Kumamoto Prefecture, we are now distributing “J.O.NOTE” in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and Miyazaki Prefecture, and we plan to expand the circle of support to all of Kyushu and even the whole country in the future.

The “J.O.NOTE” project expands through the power of the local community – This project is an initiative that supports the learning and growth of students through the support of local businesses and organizations. Following its success in Kumamoto Prefecture, the project, which will be implemented for the first time in Kitakyushu City, Fukuoka Prefecture and Miyazaki Prefecture, will also provide free distribution with the cooperation of local companies and organizations.

With this expansion in Kitakyushu City and Miyazaki Prefecture, a similar support system will be established in these areas, creating an environment in which the entire region will come together to support students. This project aims to go beyond simply providing notebooks to deepen ties with the local community by providing local businesses and organizations with new points of contact with students. In the future, we hope that “J.O.NOTE” will become a bridge connecting students with local supporting companies and organizations throughout the country, and we hope to create a society where local communities and students are even more connected.
Through this project, Jono Printing Co., Ltd. will create
opportunities for local businesses and organizations to support students while contributing to the community, and will help create a foundation in which the entire local community can come together to nurture the leaders of the future.

For the 4th “J.O.NOTE” distribution, a presentation ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Kumamoto Prefectural Kumamoto Technical High School on behalf of high schools in the prefecture. The presentation ceremony was attended by the school’s principal, Yasushi Nozaki, and three student representatives, and the notebook was handed out by our representative, Jono. The principal said, “Thank you for donating the notebooks.First of all, we will make sure to use them for the students’ studies.Also, we will be conveying information about the companies on the second half of the page to the students in order to “know about companies in the prefecture.” “I would like to come,” he said.
