What will these people do after this? An omnibus drama for adults that leaves plenty of room for imagination and leaves you wanting to immerse yourself in the afterglow of the ending.
This work is made up of five short stories that depict the various emotions and decisions faced by people at turning points in their lives, set against the backdrop of events that occurred during the last six months of the closure of the prestigious Graff Hotel. It’s a story.
The Graff Hotel, which is about to close in six months, depicts how everyone deals with themselves and the people around them, facing the past, present, and future. Each story vividly reflects the complex emotions of the characters and important moments in their lives.
“Living in a hotel for a month”
Doo-ri, a film director, is given the job of checking a junior director’s script. He was given a room at the Graff Hotel, where he was to concentrate on his work for a month, but he was shaken by the gap between his former glory and the present. Due to changes in her own health, her work has not progressed as expected, but after meeting someone again, she makes a new determination. What decision did she make at this turning point in her life?
“Like a French novel”
A man heads to the Graff Hotel to meet a woman even though he is at work. In response to the woman’s request to “do something like a French novel,” the man decides to have a secret meeting with the woman at a hotel during the day. The two are excited in this extraordinary world, but the man’s heart is shaken by the woman’s casual words. What will happen to the relationship between the two? “Housekeeping”
Jonghyun works as a housekeeping maid at the Graff Hotel, who is reluctant to interact with other people and is supported by the posts of her favorite authors on SNS. She finds fulfillment in her daily routine of perfect cleaning, but one day, a reunion with a former classmate causes ripples in her heart.
“Night shift”
Dong-joo works as a doorman on the night shift. He is a hard worker, and in the past he had a passionate love affair with an older woman and then a breakup. One day, when those bittersweet feelings are starting to fade, the two end up meeting again in an unexpected place… As thoughts of the past and present swirl around, what decision did Dong-joo and the woman make in the end?
A story of pure love and sad separation reminiscent of Korean romance dramas. “People who weren’t invited”
Sang-woo, a popular entertainer with a sharp tongue, is invited to a dinner party with celebrities by Yeong-il, a senior comedian. In contrast to his acting style, Sang-woo is a sociable person and has a hard time getting into the flow of the conversation, but he hits it off with Bang, an investment advisor who was there. The two men get to know each other better, but Sang-woo doesn’t understand why Ban is interacting with him, so he takes the plunge and pours out his feelings… Also, keep an eye out for the playful adult conversation drama that will take place at the Graf Hotel’s piano bar, which is about to close.
This work narrates the joys and sorrows of the characters who face turning points in their lives, along with the history of the Graf Hotel, and invites the reader into a deep reverberation. Why not immerse yourself in the dramatic world created by these five gems?
