Japan’s largest app for atopic dermatitis patients, “Atopiyo”, has been selected for the world’s top accelerator “Berkeley SKYDECK”! ~To be released in the US~

Atopiyo LLC (Location: Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, Representative: Ako Ryotaro) is a member of Berkeley, a world-class acceleration program originating from the University of California, Berkeley.
We would like to inform you that our application has been adopted by “SKYDECK” on September 3, 2024. This program is part of the Deep Startup Acceleration Program (GSAP), which is developed by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) together with the Cabinet Office and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
It is positioned as a Tech course. During this program period, we plan to release the U.S. version of Atopiyo, an app for atopic dermatitis patients.

[What is Berkeley SKYDECK]

SKYDECK is a global startup acceleration program originating from the University of California, Berkeley, which consistently ranks at the top of various world university rankings.
This program will be a 12-week startup incubation program conducted in a hybrid format, both locally in the US and online, and we also plan to accept interns from the University of California, Berkeley. [Future outlook]
It is said that there are 1.32 million atopic dermatitis patients in Japan and 31.6 million in the United States.
We will release a US version of the app in conjunction with this program, and through local feedback we will create a symptom management and community app that can be used by atopic dermatitis patients in the US. Furthermore, in the United States, we aim to create a cycle of giving back to people with atopic dermatitis by collaborating with medical and pharmaceutical companies.

Former atopic dermatitis. programmer. Master of Engineering. Certified public accountant.
Due to his experience with three allergic diseases: atopic dermatitis, asthma, and rhinitis, he engaged in volunteer activities at patient groups. Ako, a pharmacist, interviews people with atopic dermatitis I developed this app by myself with Akiko’s opinion and the guidance and supervision of programmers.
