Teruho Co., Ltd. (location: 5-15 Shihi, Eiheiji-cho, Yoshida-gun, Fukui Prefecture, CEO: Makoto Yamashita) will open a commercial facility called “Hikari” on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, along the approach to Eiheiji, the head temple of the Soto sect.
We will be opening Terrace Kibo (Hikari Terrace Kibo).
In front of Eiheiji Temple, stores and accommodation facilities have been built since the 1950s in response to the increase in the number of tourists, but due to changes in the needs of tourists and a decrease in income due to a decrease in the number of group tourists, it has become difficult to update the building’s functions and provide services. There were a lot of issues to be solved, such as improvement and product development.
In order to resolve these issues and create a unified appearance between the temple gate and Eiheiji Temple, we have positioned the project as a “Zen Village Project.” From 2018 to 2019, Eiheiji Temple will be renovated as the first phase of the temple restoration project. Using old maps from the 1600s as reference, Fukui Prefecture renovated the stone wall of the Eiheiji River, Eiheiji Town turned the approach to stone pavement, put power cables underground, and built a tourist information center and bus stop. Zen no Yado Kashiwa Jukan” (Fujita Kanko Management) has been renovated.
This time, as a second phase project, we are taking measures against the after-corona virus, an increase in tourists from eastern Japan due to the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Fukui Tsuruga extension on March 16, 2020, and an increase in foreign tourists due to the recovery of inbound tourism. Utilizing the Eiheiji Town corporate version of the hometown tax system, the commercial facility “Hikari” will be built on the opposite shore of
Terrace Terubo” has been maintained.
Tenants at the facility are Nousaku Co., Ltd. (Location: Office Park 8-1, Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, President and CEO: Chiharu Nousaku) and Seisetsu Co., Ltd. (Location: 479-139 Terama,
Minakami-cho, Tone-gun, Gunma Prefecture). , Representative Director: Atsuyuki Yoshino) will open a store and operate a specialty store, cafe, and select shop.
Prior to the grand opening, a dedication ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on October 1st at the approach to Eiheiji Temple in front of the building. The ceremony is expected to be attended by a large number of guests, construction personnel, and people associated with the head temple of Eiheiji Temple. The building is a one-story wooden building, made with plenty of materials from Fukui Prefecture, including cedar cut from the mountain forest owned by Eiheiji Temple.
DDC, which was founded in 2020 as a coffee shop opened by a coffee bean wholesaler, uses carefully selected raw beans imported from all over the world at its own roasting facility in Naritasan Suikoji Temple (Minakami Town, Tone District, Gunma Prefecture). We roast our coffee in small batches with great care and transport it to our stores in small batches to maintain freshness.
At the Eiheiji store, we will not only serve coffee but also try a new format as a “rice cafe”.
