Mima City has decided to introduce “SmartPOST” with the aim of improving convenience for residents and improving work efficiency. Traditional paper-based mailing resulted in time loss, and the printing, enclosing, and sealing of notification documents was a huge burden on staff.
In order to solve these issues, the introduction of digital postal services was considered. The use of “SmartPOST” not only reduces the work burden on staff, but also enables quick information transmission and administrative procedures using a single smartphone, which is expected to contribute to improving resident services.

“SmartPOST” is a digital postal service that works with the digital ID “xID app” to digitize notifications from local governments to residents. Since we utilize the public personal identification service of My Number Card, we are able to reliably send messages to targeted residents digitally. Residents can now receive notifications on their smartphones, which they previously received on paper, making it more convenient to view and store notifications.
Therefore, it is possible to reduce the cost of mailing and mailing, which was a problem in the past. Furthermore, by linking the xID app with the My Number Card, anyone can easily create a digital ID, so residents can use this app to verify their identity on their smartphones and complete administrative procedures without having to go to the government office. .
Mima City utilized “SmartPOST” to digitize “various examination information and decision notifications for mother and child services” in August 2024. We plan to gradually digitize notifications in the future.
