Robata Eel Oysters Hamanaso Interior

Shizuoka/Hamamatsu is a treasure trove of rich ingredients

Shizuoka/Hamamatsu has cultivated a rich food culture, blessed with abundant marine resources from Lake Hamana, Enshu Sea, and Tenryu River, as well as vast forests and diverse soil types. Lake Hamana, where seawater and freshwater mix, has a calm and nutrient-rich environment where various aquaculture and fishing activities have been carried out since ancient times, and a rich ecosystem nurtured by people’s lives and nature has expanded. Many fish gather to catch the rich plankton grown in the minerals. The Hamamatsu/Lake Hamana region has a variety of topography and soil types, including the red soil of the Mikatahara Plateau, sandy soil along the coast, slopes with good drainage, and mountain areas with varying temperatures. The area is blessed with clear streams flowing from vast forests. We grow a variety of crops that suit each climate.

Shizuoka Ingredients

Primitive grilling with a sense of realism

Enjoy Shizuoka Prefecture ingredients with original grilling. Robata Eel Oyster Hamanaso was opened with the desire to convey to not only locals but also people from outside the prefecture the seasonal ingredients and cuisine that allow them to enjoy an abundance of agricultural and marine products each season. Based on the ancient Japanese cooking method, Genjiyaki, carefully selected ingredients are grilled in an irori hearth, resulting in a crispy exterior and fluffy, moist interior, allowing you to enjoy the original taste of the ingredients.

Leaving rare building materials and fittings as they are

“Robata Eel Oyster Hamanaso” was established in 1910 as a long-established store selling betrothal gifts, etc. The building has been reinforced and renovated. Because we made use of the original building materials and fittings as much as possible, you can still feel the charm and historic atmosphere of the building that has been around for many years that cannot be recreated through processing. A hearth is installed near the entrance so that you can see the hearth when entering the store. We have counter seats on the first floor and 3 private rooms, so you can use it in a variety of situations. For special occasions such as anniversaries, dinner parties, and special occasions, please enjoy robata cuisine grilled over charcoal in a hearth in a nostalgic atmosphere.
