Mobile science museum Science a
GoGo (Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture) and Hiruzen Shiogama Camping Village (operated by Ryobi Holdings Co., Ltd.) will hold an event where the whole family can enjoy stargazing on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at Hiruzen Shiogama Camping Village (Okayama Prefecture). Maniwa City).
At this campsite located in Daisen-Oki National Park, surrounded by nature, the whole family can enjoy the star-filled sky, including Saturn, which is at its best this time of year. We also hold workshops on making your own telescope, so it’s the perfect place to make summer memories with your kids.

*If you are unable to observe the starry sky outdoors due to bad weather, we will hold a “simulated astronomical telescope
experience” and “Look for stars with a handmade telescope! Planet hunting bingo!” at the restaurant in the campsite.

★Workshop to make your own telescope
We will create an original telescope that is only one in the world. With 3x magnification, this telescope can be used for a wide range of purposes, such as observing animals at the zoo, penguin shows and sea lion shows at the aquarium, bird watching and enjoying distant scenery during the day, and observing moon patterns and walking under the starry sky at night.
*Telescope making workshops will also be held during the day (from 15:00) for non-guests.
★Guidance on the starry sky that can be seen today by a starry sky guide Using planetarium software indoors, we will talk about the starry sky we see today and the seasonal starry sky.
★Starry sky observation at the campsite
We will go outside with a starry sky guide and find constellations together while actually showing the starry sky that we can see at the moment. Now is the best time to see Saturn shining in the southern sky! You can also enjoy the constellations from summer to autumn and the Milky Way.
