Mr. Minoru Minamino, representative director of Southfield Management Co., Ltd., held a panel discussion commemorating the opening of Yokote City Lifelong Learning Center Ao-na, held on Saturday, September 14, 2020. I appeared on stage as a coordinator.
This panel discussion was held with the aim of creating an exchange base where people can gather and connect.
The theme of the event was “Thinking about the appeal and potential of Lifelong Learning Center Ao-na”, and the purpose of the event was to deepen understanding and interest in Lifelong Learning Center Ao-na and encourage its future use. The event, held at the Yokote City Lifelong Learning Center Ao-na, featured five panelists with diverse perspectives and a lively discussion lasting one hour.

The panel discussion began with self-introductions and an explanation of the facility’s design concept, and each participant exchanged opinions on the appeal and potential of Lifelong Learning Center Ao-na, and how it can be used in the future. In particular, the panelists proposed specific ideas from their own standpoints regarding the various ways in which Ao-na can be used, which functions as a library but also serves as a new public space. Finally, Mayor Takahashi Oyokote expressed his expectations for Ao-na, and under the leadership of Mr. Minamino, the discussion deepened regarding the future role and potential of Ao-na in the local community.
