[Anchor Japan] Apology and voluntary recall notice regarding our mobile battery It has come to light that two of our mobile battery products have been involved in incidents such as fires overseas. Although this has not occurred in Japan at this time, we would like to inform you that we will be recalling and replacing the product in order to prevent further damage. We sincerely apologize for the great concern and inconvenience caused to customers who have purchased or exchanged affected products, as well as those who support the Anker Group on a daily basis. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
An overview of this matter is as follows.
* 1. Background *
In July 2024, an incident occurred overseas where a target product caught fire, and Anker
Shipping has been suspended across the group globally. As a result of an investigation to determine the cause, a flaw in the manufacturing process was discovered, so Anker
We have decided to carry out a voluntary recall across the entire group. *There are currently 0 outbreaks in Japan.
* 2. Cause *
During the battery cell manufacturing process at a cell manufacturing supplier outsourced by our company, when welding the negative electrode current collector and tab lead (terminal for connecting the electrode to an external circuit), the supplier’s on-site judgment complies with Anker Group regulations. Uses a horn that has been worn out. As a result, some cells were found to be insufficiently fixed at the relevant locations, resulting in heat shrinkage due to
insufficient welding of the negative electrode current collector and tab lead, and the products were shipped in a situation that could lead to internal short circuits.
* 3. Status of response to date *
– To prevent the spread of the impact, we have suspended new shipments and sales of the affected products.
– As of now, we have confirmed the scope of impact.

We are swiftly working to further tighten our control system for cell manufacturing suppliers and our in-house inspection system. We have also reviewed our system once again and are working to tighten quality and testing standards during development.

Because Anker Group’s management and supervision system for cell manufacturing suppliers was insufficient, we have re-examined our selection criteria for manufacturing suppliers and strengthened the regulations established by Anker Group.
– We are reviewing the system for inspecting products before shipping and are also making inspection items more stringent.
– We have strengthened our audit system to ensure compliance with regulations established by the Anker Group during the manufacturing process of Anker Group products at cell manufacturing suppliers.
