In August, Cross Cat Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President and CEO: Mitsunori Yamane, hereinafter referred to as Cross Cat) began implementing measures to improve employee engagement, including promoting understanding of work at home and activating communication with families. For this purpose, we held an event called “Children’s Visit Day” where the children of our employees visited the workplace.
Through this experience, many children began to take an interest in their parents’ work and had conversations with their families after returning home, making this a meaningful initiative that will lead to improved employee engagement.
On the day of “Children’s Visit Day,” 38 people from 14 families participated, including 21 children. The children were given employee ID cards and business cards for the day, and they had the opportunity to interact with employees throughout the office, including exchanging business cards, which is the basics of business, creating approval documents, and taking commemorative photos in the president’s office. In addition, many children’s eyes lit up when they tried out a voice conversion app and experienced programming using Scratch development, which our AI engineers prepared as a highlight project.
Participating children have expressed their interest in their parents’ work, with comments such as “I was able to imagine a little bit of what my father’s job is” and “I was very satisfied because I learned a lot about what kind of work he does.” It was an opportunity for me. In addition, a parent commented, “I think this was a good opportunity to convey to employees who don’t have children that we are a company that values not only its employees but also their families,” and said, “I think this was a good opportunity to convey to employees who don’t have children yet,” This helped promote understanding of how to create an environment that allows for a work-life balance.
Cross Cat aims to be a company where employees can continue working with enthusiasm, and we are implementing measures to expand our education system, reduce long working hours, and provide childcare support.
