Kochi Prefecture is in a serious situation with the second highest aging rate among prefectures (Population estimates: as of October 1, 2020, Statistics Bureau, Ministry of Internal Affairs and
Communications). Improving access to medical care is of course an urgent need, but at the same time, the shortage of doctors and nurses is becoming a serious issue, so there are high expectations for efficiency through medical DX. Furthermore, as regional infrastructure is progressing and an environment is being created that facilitates the spread of remote medical treatment and digital health management systems, MediTech is leveraging ICT and other technologies to expand its reach from Kochi Prefecture to all over Japan. We will promote medical DX.
■* FY2020 Kochi Prefecture Healthcare Industry Demonstration Support Project Subsidy*
This subsidy will be used for demonstration experiments to
commercialize new health tech-related products and services using digital technology, which will be carried out in collaboration between municipalities and medical institutions within the prefecture, private companies and universities inside and outside the prefecture. By subsidizing a portion of these costs, the aim is to attract health tech-related companies from outside the prefecture and contribute to the creation of a health tech industry within the prefecture and the resolution of regional issues.
