HAJIMARI Beppu Guest Room “Room 4F”
HAJIMARI, a cultural complex where you can stay in Beppu City Beppu opened on September 25th last year and is now celebrating its 1st anniversary. Since its opening, it has been used by many people, and has been supported by many local, domestic, and international guests, artists, and event participants.
In commemoration and gratitude, HAJIMARI Beppu “OPEN DAY” will be held on Sunday, September 29th.
We will be holding a room tour by members of DABURA.m, the
architectural design firm that operates Beppu, and a talk event aimed at interacting with visitors and local residents. HAJIMARI
The members who have created Beppu’s space will show you around the guest rooms that are usually only available to hotel guests, and explain about the space and the art on display. Furthermore, I would like to share with you what I have felt after running the company for a year, the architecture I have been involved in, and my passion for Beppu, as well as answer any questions you may have.
《What is HAJIMARI Beppu?》
HAJIMARI
Beppu is a cultural complex located in Chiyomachi, Beppu City that has accommodation facilities for medium to long term stays. We renovated and produced a 46-year-old liquor wholesale warehouse building to make it earthquake resistant, and opened on September 25th of last year. The hotel exhibits art by local artists, and there are six guest rooms equipped with kitchens, as well as HAJIMARI, which has a library. LOUNGE, Cafe Yuami, Shop Umitojikan, Pottery Studio Wakako

We have held various workshops such as “BAR” and have been active as a base for cultural dissemination. Since opening, the inn has accommodated approximately 1,800 guests, including guests from all over Japan and various countries around the world.

HAJIMARI
Members of the architectural design firm DABURA.m, which operates Beppu, are involved in space design and town development every day so that we can “help make Beppu a better place through architecture.” This time HAJIMARI
Looking back on the year since Beppu opened, the members, who often struggle with drawings and construction sites, discuss their thoughts on Beppu. I would like to think about the future of Beppu together with everyone who comes to the event, talking about things like “I wish there was a place like this” and “I want this kind of town to be!”.
Program 3. Luxurious drinking ~Cafe Yuami special menu~
At Cafe Yuami on the 1st floor of HAJIMARI Beppu, we offer not only the standard menu, but also HAJIMARI, which is only available on special days.
We also offer drinks and alcohol carefully selected by Beppu hosts. We will also have shaved ice available only from July to September, and a quiche plate supervised by chef Maki Watanabe, which was added as a new menu to coincide with the 1st anniversary, so we hope you will enjoy this opportunity.
